    Evening all,

Well hope everyone has had a good weekend, mines not been too bad. Went dress shopping yesterday and ended up buying one!

Unfortunately I can't post a link as it was a sample dress so isn't on the website and I can't find a picture of it anywhere. It's lovely and simple and also more than I wanted to pay. So far though nobody has fainted when I told them how much. Apparantly the sample was bought two months before the company went out of business - Anna Christina or something to that effect. It's gorgeous though and fits me now which is good, means I don't need to slim into it but if I lose weight it can be took in.

Not sure what to do with the Coast dress though, kind of kicking myself that I bought it now, will have to take the hit for it though, so looks like being debt free by March is not going to happen. Although I should manage for April i.e. April wage.

Apart from that excitement, nothing else much going on, except we have no gas at the moment. Been off since at least 4.30pm (when I came home), managed to cook dinner at my pal's as she is electric. I am so cold, well my hands are anyway. Waiting on the gas man coming, pity not my own gas man i.e. OH but he was down last night, ha!

Well gonna go and get a blanket cos it's getting so cold now.....
  • OOH - wedding dress, how exciting! Would it be worth trying eBay for the other one do you think?

I hope your gas comes back soon - honestly, between Pippi's water and your gas, we're having a utilities nightmare on here lately!

Well, still no gas, boo! And no heaters or hobs for little old me either!

Tried calling Coast Tasha and they won't give me an exchange or a credit note as I got money off at the time (as there was a small mark on it) so this makes it un-refundable! I will learn my lesson, just to pay full price for things so I can at least return it.

I'm wondering if it would be possible to dye it! It's in ivory which makes it look quite weddingy, but if it could be dyed maybe a champagne colour then I could wear it for my cruise. It's 100% silk though, will pop over to an appropriate board and enquire, someone will be able to tell me.

    I have heat, yeehah!

OMG it feels so good to be warm, I'd never survive long without heat. The gas man said I was the sorriest looking person he'd seen all night, I guess I did look rather sorry answering the door with a fleece, a dressing gown and wrapped in a blanket, and also fingerless gloves. I was warm apart from my hands, hence the gloves. All sorted now though.

Had some toast and beans for dinner earlier on, as it was all I could make, then some nice pasta and now gonna have a lovely cuppa. Bliss!

Is it bad that I've just poured a glass of wine on a Monday night, when I should be in bed??

Opened it on Saturday night and it was a dear bottle, forgot about it last night in my time of coldness so just fancied a little vino! Found a thread about dyeing silk but still none the wiser - who would tell me, a dressmaker??

    Evening all,

Well little ol me is 37 today and feeling every bit of it. Ended up taking a half day to drown my sorrows.

Got lovely cards, a nail set, mint choccie orange and some money so far. OH coming down tonight and taking me for dinner so will get my pressie from him then.

Went to the bank to put cheque in but had ripped the wrong part off, so need to go back on Saturday if I get the chance, good news though is that I got some wedding shoes. Had a wee look in a couple of charity shops and found an ivory/cream Next pair with a small heel for £5, brand new. They're nothing fancy but will do under my dress. Can then wear the purple ones at night, brilliant.

Thanks urg, day went ok once OH came down, got some nice pressies from him, one of which was the new Gok Wan autobio, lovely jubbly. Also went out for a nice meal and was nice spending time together on my birthday. Thought he was staying though but it's next Tuesday, I got mixed up.

Anyway, nothing much else been happening, no more bargains, ha.
