Evening, eh morning all!
Well Flyin Fresian, the craft fayre was so busy I don't think we'd have ever bumped into each other. We were in the section you just left, ships that passed in the night! I didn't spend too much, got some goodies to make my invites but still need a bit more.
Surprised I can type, we're just back from a Halloween night in the pub, was pretty good. It was last minute, so I was a pirate, not the sexy one of last year but a toned down version and OH was a CSI - an outfit I had from a few years ago. We left when they started going through everyone to see who the winner was. We wouldn't have won, I am a bit tipsy so off to bed now. Surprised I can even tupe, although I am concentrating really hard. Night allll zzz0 -

Evening all,
So have spent about a week (on and off) reading Memorygirl's Make Do and Mend thread (only at Page 29 - so loads to go), but have decided to take on some of her ideas, mainly the 15 minute bursts of cleaning (my house is a disaster at the moment) and also the 100 day challenge, except mines will be a 50 day challenge.
This will take me to the 20th December, with the aim of having everything completed so I can relax for Christmas. I have ideas rolling around my head but not had time to put them down on paper, but the things I want to achieve are:
a) The whole house de-cluttered
b) Healthy eating habits in place
c) Finances to be around £1 - £1.5K
Basically what I set out to achieve at the start of this diary, which I just realised was around the 20th December 2009 which means a year since it started. At this time, I also started my daily spending diary so that will be interesting to see where all the money has gone for non-essential items.
Start off for tomorrow, is Day 1 of my 5 day detox and healthy eating. I will have cereal for breakfast at work, Ryvita and cream cheese (needs to be used up ASAP), a brunch bar, one of OH's yoghurts he bought and copious amounts of water (along with my Detox Drink). Two cups of tea maximum at work and NO coffee.
Dinner will be home-made soup with a slice of bread, loads of water and again, two cups of tea.
Not brilliant for the first day but I need to go to the supermarket, as a reminder (cos I always forget), I need - toilet roll (down to the last few squares, ha), meat for sarnies, yoghurts, some fresh fruit, something for dinner on Wednesday, maybe some fish. I need to start planning my meals each week last week seen some strange concoctions on the dinner front. Well so much for my early night tonight, it's not 11pm, so gonna say night now and looking forward to tomorrow being my first day of a healthier Swinstie! Night all x
P.S. Only spent £29 today but it was something for OH's Christmas (money already saved up)!0 -
Morning, well not going great so far - forgot my brunch bar and also forgot to take my soup out of the freezer! But, as I have my new PMA head on, instead of the brunch bar I will have one square of the dark chocolate I have stashed at work (if I really need it) and for dinner, I will have one of the tins of soup I bought last week. Not as great as the homemade stuff but need to improvise here.
I'm sure someone posted on MG's thread, seven areas where they were going to work on, will have a wee look and steal some ideas - one for each day of the week I'm sure it was. Anyway, here's to a great day, will update my other areas later.0 -
Well ths shortage of loo roll will act as an incentive to do that supermarket trip in any case!
MG's threads are fantastic for giving you a kick up the rear - We're just starting a 50 day challenge over on the Matrix thread now - I need to get my challenges written down so I can focus on working through them I think. 50 days seems like ages but really isn't that long. I also swear by the 15 minute bursts of activity - it also works if you're watching TV to do computer based stuff, then something more "houseworky" in the ad breaks - each break might only be 3 - 5 minutes long but even that's enough time to get the washing machine or dishwasher empty, or hang up a load of washing taken out, etc. over a couple of hours viewing you can easily get a quick clean of kitchen or bathroom done by using that method too!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Well so far today I have almost finished my first 500ml bottle of detox juice - yum! I split this into two bottles as a) I didn't have a litre bottle and b) because I thought it would be easier to drink, one at work and one when I go home, simples. Also have had some weetabix for breakfast and a small handful of peas (my snack). Just about to have lunch, Ryvita and cream cheese with my first cup of tea of the day, will try and keep yoghurt til mid afternoon. Someone has brought in another box of Celebrations - usually when I say I'm not eating any, I eat half the box, so how about - I will eat something healthier instead!
Have got some brilliant tips of MG's thread, Essex, not read the new one as it's moving too fast and I didn't understand it but I'm slowly making my way through her last one - only 200 pages to go, ha!
I will update my list tonight with the aim of doing something each day from each category.
I actually do that tidying between ads as well, I even do it with taped progs instead of fast-forwarding the ads, I just let them run and go and do something, even if it is just to hang some washing up. Feeling quite positive - oh actually have just made my overpayment today to Barclaycard so that's one positive thing ticked off my list.
Small list of what I need to do just for today:
Write list for supermarket - done
Go to supermarket straight from work
Make healthyish dinner
Watch 1 hr of tv to catch up on taped progs
15 minute bursts of tidying - one each hour til bedtime
That's me for now, gonna have lunch and try and compile my 'proper' list.

Hi Willow, you're going great guns with the de-cluttering!
Well, I am still at work and it is peeing down, tin roof on the building means it sounds like we're in a caravan, ha!
Got my (small) list for the supermarket tonight, really tempted not to go but the loo roll really will not last!
Planning on being home for around 6.30pm, so will stick my soup on (I am starving) then do a 15 minute stint whilst dinner is cooking then another around 7.30pm, 8.30pm and 9.30pm (bed at 10pm hopefully). I have 4 mains areas in the house so 15 minutes in each room each night and hopefully I will see an improvement. At the weekend will try and do 8 15 minute (2 hour) sessions as I've got more things to tidy i.e. wardrobe, kitchen cupboards etc.
Will TRY and post my 7 point plan later, once I've actually managed to come up with something that is!
ETA - Debt is now down to £2845 or £2635 if I take off money owed from wedding budget and also Xmas budget (yes I did get a pressie yesterday)!0 -

Been quite successful so far, managed to get to the shops even though the drive home was pretty hairy in the rain and I just wanted to get home - the lack of loo roll spurred me on :rotfl::rotfl:
So got some goodies, £23 didn't seem to get me much but probably enough for lunch all week and most dinners, loo roll was £5 but was a BOGOF so will last a while. Have watched second last episode of Dexter and since it's only the finale to go, I really need to watch it tonight.
First 15 mins of tidying I managed to get the bathroom, which wasn't too bad, squared up and looking ok. Also folded some clothes in the room, found my charger and sorted some washing out. Will put the washing on and fold up dry stuff from airer whilst watching Dexter. Next 15 mins I will get dishes done and have my last cuppa of the night. Onto my second bottle of detox juice which is ok and not sure if it's that or not but my head has been bursting all day, am I being detoxed, that is the question0 -
Ok, so wash done, can only do one more though as ran out of washing tabs, boo! Time for my second 15 min session, can't even concentrate as just watched the last episode of Dexter, OMG I wasn't expecting that!
Anyway, hang washing up then do bit tidying in livingroom. Next 15 mins will be in the kitchen then final one in the bedroom just before bed. Not going to over-exert myself for that one, but hopefully enough to get a good sleep tonight. Head still woozy but trying not to take any painkillers, power through the pain and all that, ha!0
