Hello!!

Evenin' all!
Well not that wrong, but received an email for Mr Branson today informing me that my rates for phone/tv/broadband will be going up shortly :T:T
It made me take a look again at my finances (a recurring theme on this site) and the fact that it is 10 days til pay day, council tax didn't come off this month and I have not many pennies in my purse (and away for an overnight on Saturday), I do declare that I am up some sort of yukky creek without the proverbial paddle! Result, when OH called tonight I cried like a baby down the phone and tried to talk him into cancelling our overnight til after pay day. !!!!!!! I'm always banging on about wanting to have a life whilst paying off my debt and here I am throwing away a (paid for) overnight with Mr Swinstie (I'm calling him that just incase I never become a Mrs [insert appropriate surname here].
I have plenty of food in the freezer, some in the fridge and loads in the cupboard so I'm not destitute (yet), but considering I put £20 of petrol on my Visa at the weekend, it's getting a teensy bit bad. I was promised overtime before Xmas, it has yet to materialise, so when the bloke who promised me it comes back on Wednesday I will be asking when I'm getting OT, it's either that or I am resorting to selling Mr Swinstie or myself on ebay:
Mr Swinstie's Ad:
Hunky 42 year old Man For Sale, used but in good physical condition, likes nights out and cosy nights in, is very agreeable and good around the house, especially the bedroom
My Ad:
36 year old Female, in debt to the tune of £7.5K! Starting Bid: £7.5K :rotfl::rotfl:
Ok, methinks I need to go to bed now (and think of a better ad for myself)! Nite all xx
P.S. We will be going away for the night, Mr Swinstie suggested we just spend all night in the hotel room0 -
Feeling a bit more optimistic today, still on for clearing the debt my Dec 2010, the best laid plans aren't the best if they go to plan are they?! I cancelled the gym last night for tonight and Thursday as really needing to make headway on the house, unfortunately tonight that meant spending money. Spent £9.40 on food for the rest of the week and lunches and tonight about £27 (on Visa) for some more storage. Even after my huge clear-out I still have a lot of footwear and bags (scared to count them) so now have them all in containers with split lids so I can easily see them and keep them clean. Room is looking a lot healthier for it.
My sister from Canada emailed me today, eh did you leave eldest niece's birthday card when you were here? Eh, yes I left all three and you better not have lost it as there was $50 in it! Phoned her tonight, she is panicking and got me wondering whether I did leave it, but I'm 100% sure I did, I wouldn't leave two and not the third. She's yet to let me know if she found it, too late to send another card now though, poor eldest niece!
Anyway stir-fry for dinner tonight, I am starving....0 -
you do make me laugh with your posts swinstie.
we all have rubbish days, glad today is better x0 -
Ah, nine minutes til home time so thought would update just now as going to try and not switch the computer on til later tonight. So the debt has gone up slightly due to buying new storage boxes, however not going to add it in just now as hoping to pay the 'extra' off when I get paid in February. My monthly CC payments are usually £400, eek, but I always try and pay a bit more if I need to as I like nice rounded down figures. Still a week til payday and can't wait to make my payments.
My Virgin CC statement came in the other day and the guy did what he said and refunded the £12 charge I got for a 'missed' DD. Had already closed this card, so only my Halifax CC, Barclaycard CC (which I use day to day) and my loan, which I currently have around £1,200 saved up to pay off when the time comes.
I have road tax due in March but have been giving my sister money each month to keep for me, house insurance is due in July (need to try Quidco or something for this) and car insurance is in October (again, giving sister money), so not forecasting any other big expenditures this year, fingers crossed!0 -
Sounds like you ar eon track, well done
For the first time everI am putting money aside each month for my car tax - and have dipped in and spent it!

You sound well under control Swinstie. I have to say it's made a real difference to us putting money aside each month for car stuff. With two cars now I always knew we'd need to get to grips with it - realistically it's the only practical way of dealing with it I think. OH's had its service a fortnight ago and mine will be done next week - total spend will be about £500, it's a relief to know it;s waiting there.
Glad you got that charge refunded from the so-called missed DD. Cheeky blighters!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

That is one of my main problems we never put money aside for insurance, tax, servicing for the motor and then when the bills come in, we are like "sheeeeesh how are we going to pay for that?" "oh yeah, we'll have to use our flexible friend!" who is clearly not our friend but the bankers buddy..... This is one thing we must change.** Proud to be dealing with my debts **LBM - Jan 2009 _pale_ : £24,802.21 :eek:February 2010 :silenced: : £18,078.47 (not including OD)July 2010

Evening all,
Well might as well have been on here all night for all I got done, ended up looking through all my cassettes to chuck out (I kept them all), too sentimental so I am. Started looking through old holiday albums, man did I have some great holidays over the years, going back to 1993. I was soooo skinny, had various hair-dos and was pi88ed in almost every photo, those were the good old days i.e. stayed at home, no bills to pay, every penny was my own to blow on clothes, shoes handbags, holidays...... Not a lot changed then eh, ha!
I honestly wouldn't change anything for the world, learned a lot on those drunken holidays and have great memories, I think!?
Anyway as I said haven't done much, found a gold necklace that I'm going to get valued, it weighs about 25g and is 14K (one I bought on one of those hols), so hoping to get a wee something for that.
Yeah Claire, just over a week til payday for me, but I'm not worrying about it now, Mr Swinstie is going out with pals on Friday so only got Perth to worry about, next week can be cheap and cheerful (has to be I guess). Anyway sitting here listening to Aerosmith but just noticing the time, so gonna pop to bed and dream of my skinny and more solvent days. Nite all x0
