    Evening all,

Well the good news is the redness on the fizzog calmed down, but I decided to snog the face of OH anyway, after all he did take me out for a lovely meal last night so I had to say thanks. We went to a place called The Filling Station, an American style diner, which is exactly the kind of place where I like to eat, can't be bothered with fancy expensive restaurants where they charge you over the odds just cos it's Valentine's weekend. It was very tasty and we had a few drinks afterwards (OH was working today) so didn't stay out too late.

I'm wondering when I say tomorrow where we went whether I'll get any funny looks (cos it wasn't a fancy expensive restaurant), it reminds me of when I went on my first date with OH. I told the woman I worked with at the time that OH came to meet me and drove to near where I live, being materialistic (her not me), she asked what kind of car he had. I told her he was driving a Skoda and she looked at me with what can only be described as a pitying look of 'oh poor you, he drives a Skoda'! As it turns out, the car is his dad's as he doesn't need one (drives a work van during the week). I can still see her pitying look and do you know what, I'd rather have a fab OH with no car than some !!!! driving a Porshe or a Merc or some other overrated car.

Just been thinking tonight about how at the end of the day, family, friends and a great guy/woman/or whatever takes your fancy is all that matters, money can buy you 'stuff' but it can't buy you happiness!

Can you tell I've had a few glasses of vino tonight?!??

Afternoon all, I'm only just starting to wake up, only problem is I've been in work since 8.30am! Had an early night last night but I think the vino played havic with my sleep, or maybe it was the slight vino induced headache I went to bed with, ha!

Anyway almost lunch time and I need to get a grip on my finances again, always seem to forget what I spent over the weekend, although didn't spend too much as OH paid for dinner etc. I did buy a black waistcoat and navy tights from Primarni yesterday, for the princely sum of £3.50 for both! Two things bought from my To Buy list with only a few items to go but they are items I will pick up over the year rather than the usual 'I want them now'.

Have lunch in with me today so will save some pennies, as just realised it's flipping 10 days til payday, why is the shortest month of the year also the longest when it comes to payday?!
  • Tell me about it ! I'm skint, have just about enough to cover me until payday as long as I dont feel the need to eat.

I know that feeling too, having a freezer dinner tonight, home-made lasagna and chips (yes chips again), no wonder I can't lose weight. Only really need the basics like milk and bread, the trouble is I always end up spending more even if I write a list, and taking less money doesn't help as I can be guaranteed to be 20p short or something.

I should have enough to last til pay day, luckily the council tax doesn't come out this month or next BUT if it had I would currently be at -£80 at least. OH is on shifts this week so won't be down til Friday (or he might be going for a drink with some mates), if so I will head to his on Saturday then we're heading to Perth. He is paying for the hotel and lunch and we'll split dinner (don't like taking advantage of his generous nature), so I will really need to watch the pennies til at least Saturday. I have my savings to fall back on, could always move £20 into my account if need be but really don't want to if I can help it.

Thinking of cancelling the gym this week (except Saturday morning) as a) it will give me more time to finish the house (you know the house I've been doing for about a month now) and b) it will save me petrol money as the gym is a 16 mile round trip or 32 miles if I go Tues and Thurs! Is that a good enough reason though, actually I think it might be, my petrol is not lasting these days, have put £30 in since last Wednesday and it's running out already.

Love your reasoning about the gym - I like an original excuse :rotfl::rotfl:
