Afternoon all, just a quickie before lunch as I finally remembered to bring my book in today, Twilight which I'm told is good, hope it's better than the film cos I thought that was a load of tosh!

Biting the bullet and getting my car mini-valetted tomorrow for £15 (at work), I know people will say I should do it myself but it is beyond bad. It has about an inch of dirt on the outside and inside is disgusting. I will have to empty it out tonight so they can work on it properly. My sister's OH has cleaned it for me in the past but he has a garage he can put it in and a pressure washer etc., so I might take it to his once a month and get [STRIKE]him to do it for me[/STRIKE] wash it myself as I haven't got anywhere suitable to do it, my hoover certainly wouldn't stretch even if I parked it closer to the house. I know it's a week before payday also, but we are driving to Perth tomorrow and OH just shakes his head everytime he gets in the car. Since it's my car, it's my responsibilty to keep it clean I guess, when we are living together OH will be [STRIKE]made[/STRIKE] hopefully offer to do it :D

I have a wee bit of money stashed away for emergencies so classing this as one, I'm gonna get shot down in flames aren't I for paying to get it done?! :o

If there's one thing that I absolutely detest, it is washing a car!! Mine gets hoovered once a year (if its lucky!) and cleaned probably twice a year (maybe more if its filthy) but always with a car wash :D I don't see what is enjoyable about getting freezing cold and soaking wet, only to smear the dirt all over the car *confused*

The Twillight Saga books are way better than the film! I saw the film before reading the books, and the books have a lot more detail (I think anyway)

Well this will be my annual wash cos I hate doing it too! Don't feel so bad paying for it, as I registered my new Mr T mobile yesterday and they gave me £10 credit for free so won't have to top it up for another couple of weeks at least. Texts are slightly dearer than the mobile I had but I have put Mr Swinstie down as one of my favourite numbers, he is the one I text the most so down from 10p a text to 5p. Loving the new mobile (only cost £41) with 1000 extra points, so well chuffed with it.

Started reading Twilight at lunchtime and it is more descriptive, suppose it can only be better than the film.

Been having problems with the laptop/internet, but seems to be ok now. Had a game of bingo and the screen just froze, wasn't winning anyway, luckily. It is so cold tonight, it's making me want to snuggle up but instead I really need to get a move on with my bedroom, how many weeks have I been doing this flipping room?! It will be worth it and there is no point in being half-hearted about it and chucking everything in the wardrobe again.

Did my virtual payments today and by payday I should be just under £7K, more if my sister pays me her Pink ticket money. The guy in work is still taking the two other Pink tickets so relieved about that as it means I don't have to try to sell them now. As long as nothing major crops up, still on track, don't want to wish my life away but I just want to get debt free already.

Right, music on and binbags at the ready for me....

Hey there Swinstie - just checking you haven't been sold to the highest bidder on ebay! Good luck with the decluttering! Have a good weekend.

I was sold to the highest bidder SA, but they returned me as faulty goods, too much work needed I guess!

Well sitting here still at work as it was commented on today that the MD was in last week and it was noted I wasn't here! I know I am being wound up, but I am making a point in principle. Un-officially my hours have always been 8.30am to 4.30pm Mon - Thurs and 4pm finish on a Friday. Officially, it's 8.30am to 4.45pm Mon - Friday, now considering I've been here 4 years and was told to work the first hours stated, I am peed off cos the guys just swan in an out at whatever time takes their fancy and yet cos I am the 'office girl' I'm expected to sit here til the end.

And I sit in the office during lunch and answer the flipping phones!

So from Monday, I will sit here from 8.30am to 4.45pm everyday and at lunch time I will (officially entitled to an hour) not be here and they can answer their own flipping phones! Sounds like a plan to me. Anyway have a great weekend everyone, whatever you're up to x
  • Swinsters,

I always work the official hours and only stay late when necessary. Don't believe in staying late to brown nose, there's no brownie points in it and life, quite frankly, is too short, to be tied to a desk when you don't need to be.

I hate office politics! No doubt the MD works from home on a Friday???

I had to laugh - when our new manager started a couple of weeks back my slightly dozy colleague decided to try to impress.....so his first day, SDC came in at 7.30am (we start at 8am) - new Manager was being collected by someone else though and didn't arrive at the depot until 9am! The following day, not to be deterred, SDC got in at 7.15am.......only for the new man to turn up 15 minutes later. It's all well and good trying to brown-nose, but to appear to show your boss up whilst doing so is a bit daft! :rotfl:

Swinstie, good for you playing by the rules on the hours and also taking your lunchbreak - I know without question I work better in the afternoons for having had a break and some fresh air.

Evening all, thanks for the support in the working hours fiasco, still can't believe after 4 years it's mentioned, I flipping well give them the time by answering phones at lunchtime so there will be no more of that. Thinking that a nice walk will do me a world of good, just wish the weather would get nicer though, ha.

Sister not going to the gym tomorrow, thought about not going either, for about a second, but I am definitely going. Seen my friend tonight who has lost around a stone so far and she looks great, it's giving me the motivation, that and finding more 'skinny' photos in my clearout. Going to have a cuppa and the last of the Valentine choccies, sure Mr Swinstie won't mind they are finished already, just means no more temptation for me. Still having a major clearout, the wardrobe is looking GORGEOUS! Clothes are all on individual hangers, shoes, trainers, boots and sandals are in two huge clear containers, bags in another, toiletry shelves tidied and another inventory done and the huge top shelf of wardrobe has been emptied, cleaned and everything put back minus the junk I am putting out.

Feeling great having a tidy wardrobe, it's going to take me ages to totally finish but feels good having made a start.

It's my friend's birthday next week, and as she's on a diet I have got her a bottle of her favourite red and instead of chocolate, I got her a pedometer (she's been walking) and a body composition monitor which I hope she will appreciate. They only cost £4.50 for both (bought them for myself too) as going to start walking as well. Car was also mini-valetted today and I must say it was money well spent, it looks fab and now the trick is to keep it that way i.e. no sweetie papers and general rubbish will be getting left in the car.

Bit of a long ramble from me, think I am getting tired! Got my night away tomorrow but will get packed for that after the gym, too tired to do it tonight. Nite all x
