  • Urgh to huge spiders - I hate them too!

Veggie Haggis - Findlays of Portobello do a veggie Haggis which is really spicy - we tried some at the Food Show a couple of years back and it practically blew our heads off! I have one of their regular Haggis's (haggii?! Never certain what the plural should be! :rotfl:) in the freezer at the moment - it's a huge one so will do two days.

Really makes me get my butt in gear and do some tidying/cleaning, I hate spiders and this was a monster.

Nobody particularly likes huge spiders, but it's a good sign if your home has the odd creepy crawly lurking in it.

Individuals who clean compulsively usually don't have any bugs in their house not (as they think) because they're doing an awesome job of cleaning, but because they're constantly spraying chemicals everywhere!

As in all things, a bit of balance doesn't hurt and as long as the house looks clean, a few spiders aren't the end of the world? :D We reduced the number of chemical cleaners we used last year fairly dramatically and now it's usually just Star Drops, a bit of polish and a little bleach for if the toilet is looking really grubby (darn limescale!)

Like the sound of the Baileys bath Swinstie - had to go back a page to see what it involved! I usually treat myself to a bottle at Christmas and ALWAYS regret it afterwards when I've put weight on. I just can't resist it, it's so nice! Re the spider - don't they prefer clean houses ;)

    Have a good weekend!

Clean house eh! I still don't like spiders though :D

Keep hearing all about smillies being missing and have only just noticed the 'confused' one is gone, I used that alot, cos I get confused easily, guess it will just have to be this :o from now on!

Does anyone else constantly tweak their budget spreadsheet, or is it just me?! I'm quite excited by this one though, my debt free date was going to be March 2011, or March 2012 depending on whether I let my loan run it's course, but I have worked out that I can be 100% debt free by the end of this year :j:j

I will have £2,300 saved by Sept to pay off loan, add this to the £250 I should have in another account + £200 per month x 3 (Oct - Dec) = £3,150 saved.

£3,150 - £1,000 (owed on Halifax CC by Sept) = £2,150, by Dec my loan should be at £2,183 which means I only need £33 to pay and that's it debt all gone!

All savings will be pretty much gone by then, BUT if I then save £550 per month, £200 as normal, £150 was paying to car and £200 (half my debt repayments), I will save a whopping £6,500 by Dec 2011 :D:D:D

Roll on Christmas in Canada 2011 (p.s. even if I spent £2,500 in Canada, which I won't) I'll still have £4,000

    Shopping! Moi?, never!

Ok I must get a grip, cos I tweak mines everday, I also even tweak my spreadsheet :rotfl::rotfl:. Ok, my mind is in the gutter yet again :D

Finishing work in 15 mins, so onwards to my sister's to hand in trainers not keeping then home and have a quick tidy up before OH arrives. Wish I had cleared up after making the soup last night.

The guy in the canteen made porridge today and talked me into it, was down for a bacon buttie and a latte, but walked away with a plate of porridge instead. Only problem is he's only covering for the normal guy who is off sick. Think it may be food poisoning as his food is never very good, oops!

So no spends for me so far today (guy in work paid for my porridge :o), having a Chinese tonight and as OH working tomorrow we will probably stay in, so no more than £5 spend later on. I'm starting to dislike spending money unless it's to pay off debt!

Have a nice weekend everyone, going to give myself tomorrow off so can concentrate on de-cluttering x

    having a Chinese tonight

Spooky - we had one last night :) We had some crispy lamb (like crispy duck but cheaper) and it was very nice.

Porridge is a pretty fabby breakfast and is one of the few things that keeps me even vaguely full (my stomach is a non stop digesting machine!) I tend just to make it with water and have a little milk and honey through it. Could never get into the traditional Scottish way of having it... a little salt and a scowl.

Great news that you'll probably be debt free by the end of the year and saving instead!
Canada trip sounds like a good incentive to stay on track!

    Morning all,

Porridge is on but not having it with a scowl this morning, ha!

Spent last night sleeping on a corner of my bed as it is currently covered in clothes. Having my clear-out and so far there are around 40 items in the charity box, some not worth ebaying, a couple of pieces are like French Connection jeans, however I do not know how to ebay. That along with having no time or inclination to do it and the fact I just want rid of the junk from the house, then charity shop it is.

I am still left with a mountain of clothes that I need to go through again, been looking at my T&S Body Shape book, my Gok books and I still can't figure out what suits me. Had looked into a style consultation but it was too expensive at £130, might have been money well spent years ago, in saying that my shape has changed, I used to be a skinny minny, now I'm curvier (which I actually like). My sister knows someone who does the consults, waiting on her phoning me to ask if she does discounts, cos I wouldn't mind spending money on it, just not £130!

Oops micro has pinged, better have brekky. Have a great Sunday everyone x
