Why not just try the stuff on and see how it makes you feel. Its all well and good the Gok book saying that this particular shape suits you but no point keeping it if you don't feel comfortable wearing it.

Porridge is on but not having it with a scowl this morning, ha!

Virtuous alert! Virtuous alert! I'm feeling all guilty now as I had a toasted white muffin with omelet and sausage :o

We've recently started clearing out some stuff for charity too, which feels odd, as I don't really have that many clothes. It's great fun to get rid of certain things though (such as the shirts and smart trousers no longer needed as I've passed probation and am now quite confident enough to wear my jeans!)

I say the same ! Wear what you like and what you feel good in. If you wear something that suits you but you dont feel comfortable then people can tell. :)

Ok folks, so after filling a box with (so far) 44 items, this is what I am left with! Haven't counted anything, but the shoes are only a teeny amount, have around 9 pairs or more of boots, more trainers, sandals etc. I am quite disgusted with how much 'stuff' I have accumulated. My sister came to help me throw stuff out and ended up rummaging through everything to see what she could get!

We both did the body shape thing and think we are both bricks - I won't post the pics but we wore a black vest and leggings and took pictures against a white door, we really did look like a couple of bricks :rotfl::rotfl:

Now I have everything sorted into groups i.e. skirts, trousers/jeans, tops etc., I am really going to be ruthless and go through everything again. I could've cried looking at it all, as I just know that I have spent thousands of pounds over the years buying clothes! My shape has definitely changed but even at 36, I still think I'm younger and can wear stuff I've kept for years. I don't do the mutton as lamb look but still I forget I am older now, obviously not wiser though :D

See you all in a week, it's gonna take me that long!

Well not got very far with my clear out, threw out a ton of nightwear, as I don't know about anyone else but I tend to wear the same stuff over and over. Doesn't help when I have an Aunt who buys us PJ's every year!

How much is too many pairs of jeans?? I did a clear out last year and got down to 7 pairs, have recently bought 2 pairs of jeggings so I now have 9 pairs, is that too much still?

    French Connection Indigo Bootcut
French Connection Dark Blue Bootflare - both longer for wearing with heels

French Connection Bootcuts x 2 (1 pair a tad tight but same size as other pair - weird) also very faded - ideal for wearing with trainers or flatties
DP's slightly flared jean - as above

    Black Skinnies
Blue Skinnies - both worn with heels or flatties

    Black Jeggings
Blue Jeggings - both worn under long boots, have worn these loads since I bought them.

Been reading Gok/T& S books and both always say you should have one long pair for heels and one shorter pair for flatties, only 2 pairs?! aye right!!

I originally bought the skinnies to wear under boots but found them too bulky so the jeggings are a great alternative, just hate the horrible elasticated waistband, yuk! So could ditch the skinnies and possibly the slightly too tight FC ones, taking me down to 6 pairs, decisions, decisions.

    Oh well back to Narnia.......

Is it possible to have too many pairs of jeans? I have jeans for work, jeans for play, jeans for gardening, jeans for decorating, jeans for going out in. Black jeans, grey jeans, pale grey jeans, dark blue jeans, mid blue jeans, light blue jeans and I have at least two of each colour, thats without delving into the depths of the wardrobe. 25 pairs would be a v. rough guess although theres probably more than that lurking in there.

Hi Swinstie - don't worry I have quite a few pairs of jeans too but only regularly wear two pairs! One for dossing about it and the other for smarter use. I also have far too many clothes and I'm in need of yet another clear out. I think the mantra is if you don't feel great in it when you wear it - get rid! However, as this applies to a lot of my work wardrobe it would entail replacing quite a bit of stuff which I can't afford to do at the moment. I buy some funny things sometimes and afterwards wonder what I was thinking of! I'm attracted to sparkly shiny bright things and often forget I'm 49 and need to think a bit more carefully now!

Thanks ladies, I feel better about the jeans now, especially since I found another pair, ha! These are Next ones and more like a smart trouser jean. Today I am wearing brown tweedy trousers with a brown cami, a lovely peachy coloured cropped wrap cardigan and leopard print flatties. Finished off with a really long peachy, browny, gold bead necklace and my tan bag. I feel very dressed and think it looks rather nice. All stuff I had in my wardrobe, never felt comfy in the trousers but think because they were a bit short for heels, didn't even think the flatties went til I tried them on. Result!

Dying for a half day today cos loaded with the cold and really want to do more of wardrobe, think the daylight would help as put together an outfit last night but not sure if the colours looked right. Mmm wonder if could persuade my boss.....

Well I got my half day, yeehah! Not done much since I came home though as my head is sore, think it's probably just a head cold I've got, already taken some Nurofen but feel like lying down (can't cos bed is full of clothes). So I have instead, had a baked potato with cheese and coleslaw for lunch, two cups of tea and a handful of Maltesers, why oh why did I open them?! Opened now, only got a box of Roses left which will be passed onto my friend who's birthday it is this month.

Right, I'm feeling motivated now, gonna put some music on and go and fill another box, this is quite theraputic!

    Evening all!

Still got this headache, think it's got to be sinus/head cold/earache or something as and this sounds daft but I take headaches regularly and they are mostly always about my left eye but this one is the right side and my right ear is sore, still got the sniffles as well so think it will be an early night for me tonight.

I'm starving though as been rummaging through clothes all day so having a wee rest whilst waiting on my macaroni to brown. Ate quite a bit of cheese today, feeling in that kind of mood though, eh cheesy or what!

Hope everyone else is having a good nite, it's not bad for a Monday, only 4 more days til the weekend, ha!
