I want to make this but haven't got any saltanas so need some advice on substitutes please.

    In the house I have....
    apples
    pears
    nectarines

any suggestions as to what would work well (and how much I would need)

    Thanks very much in advance!

I haven't read through all 11 pages, but am I the only person who managed to turn this easy recipe into an absolute pig's ear? Even I couldn't eat it!
