You could make chocolate crispies with the left over Fruit and Fibre, as long as it is not soft.

I've made 3 weetabix cakes today! The first was so good I've made another one for the MIL and a third to fill the oven! (I reduced the sugar and added coriander, cinnamon and nutmeg with the second lot - delicious!)

Hi, I have got some wheatabix and also some old fruit n fibre cereal left over.
I have made the wheatabix cake ages ago following the recipe which was posted on this forum, however i cannot find it anymore. Does anyone know where to find it please. Also what can i make with the old fruit n fibre. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

We have a whole thread on this recipe, so I'll merge the threads to keep ideas together ;)

Just wanna say thanks for this recipe :) I have had some minibix lying around for about 6 months now as had a craving when first pregnant (odd as in normal run of things I don't even like cereal) then got sickly and DH doesn't like them! They made a fab Weetabix cake! Mine ended up differing slightly from the recipe in the OP but basis was the same...

4oz mini bix, crushed in the bowl with a rolling pin, then the flour, half the sugar (I used granulated) and some sultanas and chopped glace cherries as the fruit element. I added 2 tbsp black treacle with the milk as I had used white sugar, and 2 tsp mixed spice. It took 1 hour 20 mins to cook in a 1lb loaf tin at 180C/Gas Mark 4. It was def cooked through but had that sort of squichy malt-loafy element to it. I made it yesterday afternoon, and there is about 3 slices worth of it left (and they only haven't been eaten yet cos I have to get some butter when we go shopping later on!) I have a feeling I will be making this most weeks on top of the usual baking :o

    no coriander!!

i use this recipe from the GC thread:

    2 crushed Weetabix
    1 cup of sultanas
2 cups of Self raising flour
    1 cup of sugar
Mix these dry ingredients together, then add
1 cup of milk and a teaspoon of mixed spice
Stir again and pour the mix into a greased loaf tin, bake at 325 degrees for about 45 mins.
Its wonderful slightly warm and always with butter/spread.
