I just tried another couple of versions, I use mugs instead of cups. I used 2 small bananas mashed and a quarter mug of sugar in place of a full mug of sugar. I used half a mug of sultanas with half of sunflower seeds and linseed plus some nuts lying about that I crushed up. I used cinnamon instead of mixed spice. I now do it on gas 4 for 1 hr 15 mins. Result delicious.Penny xxx
Old age isn't bad when you consider the alternative.0 -
Can I just check what is meant exactly by cup?
I've used a smallish tea-cup? That about right?

Is there much difference in the taste of raisins and sultanas. I only have raisins in the cupboard. I can easily get some sultanas but don't know if it makes much difference to the taste?CCStar wrote:I did mine in the breadmaker and it came out great:)
What setting did you have it on (I presume "bake") and for how long? Did you grease or line the breadmaker bucket?0 -
I made one of these last week and it was lovely so made another one yesterday - well two. The first one had been in the oven for 30 mins before I realised I had forgot the weetabix!
Weeteabix cake without the weetabix :rotfl:
Actually, there wasn't a great deal of difference in the taste - not sure OH would have noticed. Even if I run out of weetabix, I would probably still make this......Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0
