Hope its not the case, but theres such a thing as anembryonic sac. Basically it never develops, but does give all the hormones and feelings until the time when it either implants or the blood supply connects. I had this 20 yrs ago and had D&C done. It wasnt ever a viable pregnancy. Yours is prob not this as your earlier scan showed something. Maybe they need to wait to make certain.

Yes. I know it is possible that it is that, or a blighted cyst. I honestly never knew any of this existed before now. Believe me, if I had, I would have known what to look for on the scan the first time.

I haven read the whole thread so please dont shoot me if this has already been said.
I got told the only reason they leave 2 weeks is because they take your pregnancy from the lmp and you actually concieve up to 2 weeks later (when you would have ovulated) sometimes a little longer or sometimes a little less

So it could be that according to your lmp you are 8 weeks yet if you ovulated 2 weeks later then you would only be 6 weeks and it might be too early to see a heartbeat x

i have recently suffered a blighted ovum which was only detected at my 12 week scan and it floored me as this is the second time its happened x

i really hope you get a good outcome xx
There's this place in me where your fingerprints still rest, your kisses still linger, and your whispers softly echo. It's the place where a part of you will forever be a part of me.

    Rosie

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you. As you know from the PMK thread I have had two missed m/c, and ectopic in april and a miscarriage at 14 weeks in October. I am on first name terms with the obstetricians, gynacologists and sonographers at my hospital . I totally understand what you are going through and its such a horrible thing to be going through at this time of year.

Try and keep away from googling as it puts things into your head good and bad and can give false hope as well as fear. I won't say try to relax as I know what emotional turmoil you are in but if you can take it a bit easier and rest that would be good for you and bean.

It could be that even though you know the date of your LMP that the baby is two weeks behind schedule as it can take a while for the egg to fertilise and implant and therefore the baby's heartbeat may not be seen on the scan yet.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you and your family, have as nice a christmas as possible and try not overdo it. Big hugs.

Thanks Maisie. You have been through so much, and are still finding positive words for me. Bless you. I can't begin to imagine how bad things have been for you. I hope you have better times to come.

Hope all of you girls have been having a nice time with your families over the past few days. I am Muslim, so the Christmas period was more like normal time for me.
Been trying to be positive, but prepared for bad news on Thursday. It has been a looooong 2 weeks, but only 2 days to go now.
I have been bleeding a little constantly, but just 'old' blood'. Hopefully I will get good news on New Years Eve,
Thanks for all your support over these past couple of weeks.

I've been thinking of you Rosie - I'm still annoyed with your husband for making you wait for the scan - but that's between you two. I hope it all goes well on Thursday.
