  • Hi hugs to you.

I just wanted to say Ive had to have early scans with all of mine ( I have 3 ) all 3 were internal after they couldnt get a clear enough image. Each of them they saw the sac but not the heart beat and I had to go back for a second scan where they saw the heart beat. My first pregnancy I bled which was a reason for the scan I was apparently carrying twins they could clearly see the 2 sacs but as mentioned before not the heart beats. At the second scan it turned out I lost a twin. However I bled early on with my second child and she was absolutely fine!

I also had a miscarriage between DD1 and DD2 and when I started to bleed I bled heavily for quite a few days.

Im keeping everything crossed for you

That's interesting that you had internal scans which just showed the sac and went on to have babies.
I am feeling more positive the more I think about my 2 different scans. I think there is no doctor who would say there was a heartbeat just to reassure me. I was so sure that the first scan must have been wrong, and the second one correct, but now I am not so sure.
I really wish I had spoken up that day and told them my bladder was virtually empty before they scanned me. Maybe then I wouldn't be in this situation!!!! But that's just me. I just walked away without thinking it could have been a problem!

  • Just a quick message to say there is still some hope (i know it's not the case for everyone) but i had 3 full periods for the first 3 months i was preg with my daughter, so i realised just before the 3rd bleed and was very confused. DD is three now.

ANd i am preg again - i too had some horrible bleeds (i had some lovely support from the ladies in the 'trying for a baby' board. MW also told me to go home, stay in bed and wait for the miscarriage, Nice ey? But none the less a few more bleeds later and i am still pregnant, 18wks now with baby boy (had a gender scan last week). My midwife and others, me too infact thought it was all over but somehow it wasn't natures intention and bubs is still here ;)

Best of luck to you hun!!!! Big hugs and if you need someone to talk to feel free to PM me. The ladies on the pregnancy board and the trying for a baby boards are fab too and help you get through whatever the outcome may be. :)

  • I didn't want to read and run so just sending hugs and lots of baby glue your way and hope the outcome is positive.

Thank you ladies. It means so much to have support even from people I don't know. Congrats MGEB on your pregnancy and wee boy to come!!!!! I had a light 3 day period but as I usually bleed for about 9 days, I knew I was possibly pregnant, so did a test and I was! same thing happened with my second as well! I think you just know. My first test was -ve, but after another few days and no more bleeding ( about 4 weeks and a bit) I tested again, and it looked -ve for the first 5 minutes. I looked again a few minutes later, and there was a very faint line there. A couple of days later I did another, and again a faint line, but it was there. Told dh at that point, and he was laughing and crying at the same time!!!! BTW, have done another test at about 6 weeks, and a strong pink line showed within seconds. Maybe I ovulate late in my cycle, and thats why it was a faint line to begin with. Same thing happened with my dd2.

    Hi rosie,

I just wanted to add that I bled very heavily with my 2nd DD, and when I arrived in hospital (I collapsed with it too - in the middle of a shopping centre (how embarrassing!) as soon as I was with it, they told me that I'd lost the baby (I was about 17 weeks).

However, about 6 hours later, they sent me for a scan, and to everyones astonishment, there was a heart-beat.

There were several other heavy bleeds from then onwards, due to a prolapsed placenta, each one needed hospital observation.

She was born small, but very healthy, and managed to stay put until full-term as well.

She was definitely a fighter, and judging by the snowball fight she's just had (now aged 12) with her sister - still is!!!

Huge best wishes, and massives amounts of baby glue to you xxx

Wonderful story!!!! as I have been reading through so many pages of stories, it is amazing how many people have been told they lost their babies at different stages of pregnancy, only to discover that they were still pregnant!

Im sorry that you are having such a tough time. I had a huge bleed with DD and convinced myself I was no longer pregnant...how could I be there was loads of blood and clots...until a week later when I felt overwhelmingly sick and just knew. Good luckx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Well Rosie, all I was saying is that I had a scan at 8 weeks and it was abdominal and they got a great picture, and that I have been told you don;t need a full bladder. Was just trying to reassure you they had at least done the scan right, but if you are not sure then as MrCow says pay for a private one (my early scan was private and still done abdominally though).

I do hope everything is OK for you.

I just wanted to tell you my story - I have 4 episods of very heavy bleeding between 7 and 9 weeks of my last pregnancy and that little girl is now 6 months old :)

It was an awful experience . the first bleed was exactly like the miscarraige i had a few years ago but the scan was inconclusive and as the bleeding stopped I was told to go home a relax and see what happened . 3 days later another big bleed so back to epu this time the scan showed that the sac had grown so it looked hopefull .

It was a horrendous waiting game every twinge had me worried sick but somehow i got through it , I went for a scan after every episode of bleeding and at 8 weeks they could see a heartbeat but not where the bleeding was coming from - thats still a mystery .

By the last bleed I was pretty sure everything would be ok - I mean if this baby had survived so far it had to have a good chance and i was right - it didn't stop it being stressful though .

as for adominal or internal , the first two before 8 weeks were internal the last two were abdominal and i didn't need a full bladder for either.

I know its hard but try and avoid google .

I'm crossing everything that you have a good outcome .
