I`ve bled practically from conception to about 32 weeks with my last child and the bleeding wasn`t mild. Had the trans vaginal scan at 7 weeks after a bleed and sent away for a repeat scan. I also had to go for repeat HCG tests. Little blighter came at 36 weeks. I only had the trans vaginal until around 12 weeks.0

Oh another thing. Do you still feel pregnant?0

Thanks for that. Do I still feel pregnant? Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. You know what it is like........ is it in my imagination that I feel nauseated at times, or that I feel normal at times. I never have really bad morning sickness or anything anyway. From what I have read, even if it is not growing normally, while the sac is still in the womb, there will still be hormones running around anyway, so because I haven't had a miscarriage, I shouldn't feel much different anyway. If that makes sense.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

I had two with dd1, for reassurance because I got pregnant again so quickly my dr lied about why I needed them and about my dates.
at 5 weeks it looked like a smartie which she said might be something or it might not
at 7 weeks it looked like a blob with a little flicker.
The empty bladder might have made a difference it depends on the equipment, I didnt need a full bladder with dd2 at twelve weeks but they told me that at the time.0 -
Rosie, i just wanted to wish you all the best, and send you my love.

Rosie; sorry that you're going through this and am hoping that you have a happy ending. You asked earlier if a vaginal scan would have shown anything more conclusive and I can confirm that it definately would have done. I really really can't understand why they just didn't scan you that way in the first place; it would have saved you this confusion.
It makes me so mad; I am going through a miscarriage at the moment and in the area I live (Preston in Lancs) they were absolutely fantastic at the Early Pregnancy Unit. They were so sensitive and sympathtic; I really cant rate them highly enough and their atttitude has gone a long way to helping me recover emotionally.
I had an U/S with the thing they rub on your belly and couldn't see a thing; the difference when she then switched to the vaginal U/S was amazing. Unfortunately I didn't get the answer I wanted but at least I was no longer in limbo.
Depending on how assertive you (or your OH) are feeling you could ring them up and insist on having a vaginal scan; at least then you would know.
With regards to the bleeding; if you're suffering severe stomach cramps or the bleeding becomes, to you, hard to manage then I was told to get myself to my local A and E. Different people have different levels of pain management so no one can say at what level you as an individual should be worried; just trust your instincts. The worst they can do is send you away with a box of paracetamol; rather that than finding out that you have got a nasty infection or something more serious.
hope this helps

Thanks Ellie. I am so sorry you are going through this. My heart goes out to you.
I think I probably won't ask for another scan as I have got my head around waiting for the scan on 31st. One minute I am feeling as if everything may be ok, then the next I'm resigned to receiving bad news at the next scan.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

I'm driving myself nuts now. Been on Google all day!!!! Not a good idea, I know. If anything, I am now a wee bit more positive. I really am thinking that the scan was the problem. I am not slim by any stretch of the imagination, and didn't have a full bladder. I am really hoping that is why they didn't see bean on the second scan. I am thinking that the doc the first day wouldn't have said she saw a heartbeat if she didn't.
AAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHHH! I am rambling on and trying to convince myself, I know!!!!!
I am going to go and rescue my toddler from cbeebies and bring the big one in from playing in the snow.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

when i was pregnant with my son, i was a member of a mostly american forum called two week wait, you had your forum for TTC'ers all supporting each other, then when you finally got that magical positive there was another forum for the different stages,
I remember reading at least two threads where the exact same thing had happened, positive pregnancy tests but an empty looking sac, and both those ladies went on to have normal pregnancies,
one of them had an early scan that showed 2 sacs, one empty and one with a prawn + heartbeat, they told her that it would more than likely turn out to be a single pregnancy.... i think she had perfectly healthy twin boys,
some people bleed, some dont... i had a little blood at 6 / 7 weeks that scared the life out of me, but it was nothing.
i remember in a lot of threads where people had bled there were questions about what colour it was, brown is old blood and usually nothing to worry about, red blood is newer.
I know you said your being quite calm but i recall once when i was pregnant with my daughter i had a bit of a panic about something and called my local maternity ward, they told me to come straight in and gave me a feel and put me on a monitor, the midwife said anytime i thought there was a problem it was better for me to give them a call and get some advice to calm myself rather than sit up worrying about it.
After i had my boy i was the only one in the whole ward... the midwives would have loved someone else to look after! (although i did get all the attention... which was fab)
I know your going to worry no matter what... but try to give yourself time off! I know its no comfort but you cant change the outcome either way, mother nature excels in taking the pee...
Whatever happens, I have my fingers crossed and wish you all the best xxxx0
