Yan, if you can manage send that letter special or recorded delivery - we'll add the costs into the claim so keep receipt.

If you can find the paperwork you signed with them then that would be good, but we can request it in court otherwise if needs be.

Amount wise - is it over £750 (apologies if you have already said).

Will try find a generic T&C from them seeing as Tims gone AWOL.

I have done some research at companies house and this company is about to be struck off, they have had their first gazette on 22/12/2009.

The company was disolved on 6/8/08 and dormant accounts were filed for the years to 31/8/07 and 31/8/08 on 10/8/09 when the company started trading again.

I do hope Yan that they pay you soon as promised because once companies house strike them off you will have no reccourse whatsoever.

Their registered office is in Cardiff, I do not suppose you live near enough to pay them a visit and collect the money at the same time.

Also, if you dod company search on the directors you will get Paul's home address.

Have they at anytime put anything in writing to you about actually paying this money to your bank account or has it been just phone calls?

Good suggestion. But registered office is not necessarily a place of operation, may well be a solicitors office etc. Better a visit to where they actually operate.

Also, if you dod company search on the directors you will get Paul's home address.

I would advise against that course of action, tempting as it may be. It could end in Police involvement as tempers fray, etc.

    Yan, keep focussed on claim.

Only consider a visit to their place of business if you have a witness. But you must remain calm.
Please ignore those people who post on this forum who deliberately try to misinform you. Don't be bullied by them, don't be blamed by them. You know who I mean.
You come here for advice, help and support- thats what I and like minded others will try to do.

Hi. I don't have a copy of the paper work unfortunately. I will get this printed and sent off over the weekend. Thanks very much Esmerellda.

The amount I'm claiming is about £621 (and a few pence) I'm going to have to call RH to find out the exact cost. It's about £1021 with interest.

I won't be paying them a visit, don't worry. I'm in Sheffield so not close at all.

    Hi Milly.

It's just been phone calls, nothing in writing.

for that amount of cash I would defenitly visit, even if at other side of country.

I fear letters and calls will simply be ignored.

Chrysalis, it would be just my luck I would get there and they would be closed or bull s**t me again and say I had got the wrong place.
It's not like me to get so worked up about things like this but I really need the money. I'm getting married in 5 months and the £600 is going to pay off some of the final balance. I've planned to do so much with this money but (obviously haven't) as it's never materialized. I wanted to either book a few nights away or book a week in Cornwall or something for me, my little boy and partner, the wedding, Christmas, pay the remainder of my loan off. Lol, I've spent it about 6 times over but it's so frustrating. This is MY money and some lying git can't see that.

Sorry to rant but I'm SO angry.

  • Hi - not sure what to do about this, but I put a claim through to Robertson Holbrook 2 year ago about credit card charges and still haven't been paid out.

About April last year I received a letter from Capital One offering a settlement of (roughly) £746, the next day I got a call from Robertson Holbrook saying Capital One had made an offer but they didn't think it was enough and they were taking it to court and it shouldn't take long to get my money. Great I thought - how wrong was I??

I have tried phoning and emailing - without success. The phone number I had became unobtainable - Grrr!

Can anyone help with advice on what to do? I think I've been patient enough. I know my sister has also done this around about the same time but has heard nothing.

Thanks in advance for any advice/help.

I know their phone number changed a while ago to 01446747238. They never answer their emails in my experience. I have sent them numerous emails since October 2008 and have NEVER received a reply.

Did your claim eventually go to court?

I know they were telling me my case was going to court every week for about two years, and it finally went in August 2009. My claim went in to RH in Feb 2007! I still don't have my money!

At the time I filed three separate claims with RH. I have had a payout for 1. I've given up on 1 as it was current account charges and the other one is what this whole post is about.

  • Hi Yan

I don't know if it did go to court but the boy from RH said it was going the week he spoke to me. I did lodge a number of claims - current accounts and another credit card, I have never had any contact in relation to any of these other than the BoS wrote to use to say it had suspended the claims as per the court decision.

I will try and phone them tomorrow using the number you provided - thanks for your help :-)
