Thanks folks for all your info.

I sent a letter to Andrew Bond - the Director at Head Office so hopefully i will get some feedback shortly.

My laminate is not under the skirting but has this beading round about to keep it in place - edging. I will phone my insurance company tomorrow and see what the score is but she was adiment that it wasn't under Contents.

Not sure what's laminate we have but i remember it being the most expensive one to choose from, so yes i'm upset that this has happened as i reckon the juice got through the joins and therefore warped and raised the laminate in area. It's well ugly!!

So really a word of warning to folk out there who get Home Deliveries - check all the bags first before the guy heads off. As you never know what's leaking out of a bag onto your carpet/flooring. Could be anything that stains and you will have NO comeback with Asda and maybe not even your insurance if it's flooring.

    Hold on.

Lets get this straight, faulty bottle of juice? I.e. it was broken and hence spilled.

Would this not come under the realms of consquential loss and being a bit too remote?

Yes i would have thought so, but for some strange reason they don't even know where the bottle is and what was wrong with the bottle. We're talking a 2ltr bottle here, so it's a big bottle of juice.

I've asked many times to give me the results of the testing they got done on the bottle and guess what....no answer. So i'm lost!

A similar thing happened to me last year. I was unpacking my shopping on the kitchen worktop and later saw that there was a burn mark on my worksurface where a bottle of bleach I had unpacked had been. The bottle had been unopened and was not leaking so bleach or something must have been on the bottom of the bottle.

I returned to Asda customer services with the bottle. They weren't very helpful and said "what do you want us to do about it". They said nothing could have been on the bottom of the bottle because they are all individually unpacked and then placed on the shelves. They offered a refund of the bottle of bleach which we didn't accept!

I then wrote to head office, but didn't receive a reply so I wrote again and again and then eventually got a reply saying as this was no fault of Asda's there was nothing they could do further. I gave up in the end, although this mark on my worktop is pemanent. It would cost hundreds to fix as I would have to replace the whole kitchen work surface. I know it was defintely their fault as there was no way I caused this burn mark.

A friend also had a problem with Asda when she opened a can of beans and there was broken glass in the tin - Asda told her that there was no way it was anything to do with them or their suppliers, the glass must have fell from one of her cupboards into the can as she was opening it! They treated her like she was stupid.

I do not shop at Asda anymore. Their customer service skills are non-existant and they just fob you off on everything. I wish I had taken it further but in the end I was so fed up I left it.

Good luck. At least you have got £100 so far which is more than what I got!

Hi Jessij, sounds like you've been done like me! It's so fustrating and yes they make me feel very stupid, like i must be lying and how could Asda have caused this. Months later and i'm still no further forward really.

I'm like you, feel so fed up that i feel like giving up. Every time i go into my hall i'm reminded by it and it's getting me down, so shortly i'm just going to replace it myself.

Spanner in the works time possibly - If I have mis read what you have put down OP, apologies in advance!

If they offered you £100 and you have accepted the gesture at the time, then really it is case closed and you will have trouble persuing it further regardless of the rights and wrongs. By accepting their gesture, you have accepted a 'settlement' with regards to this issue and cannot proceed any further (its like claiming for the same thing twice against insurance) as far as I understand it.

My own expeience, on both sides of this type of problem as a customer and a Customer Service body, is that once you issue a settlement and the customer accepts it by cashing it in or not returning the items or rejecting the settlement in writing, then the matter is closed.

I am not 100% sure what the legality is, but I am 80% certain this is what the law says, but please correct me folks if I am wrong!

And I have to admit, my £4.99 a pack Laminate flooring has been down for 6 years in a Kitchen with numerous large spillages and never warped to this day, thankfully!

I came upon this website, which apparently gives FREEVIEW boxes away free. Don't know if there is a serious catch in it, but thought it's worth broadcasting its existence.

"Some say the cup is half empty, while others say it is half full. However, this is skirting around the issue. The real problem is that the cup is too big."

I must say that I also have laminate flooring in my kitchen fitted by my hubby (so it must have been easy to fit!) which has so far lasted a long time and still looks in good condition. It is annoying that as far as I am aware, you can't just take a few strips out, you have to replace the whole flooring.

The annoying thing about this whole issue is ASDA and its appalling "customer services". Compensation aside, they do not even apologise in most cases or even reply to complaints without you having to constantly chase them. Its disgusting.

have you thought about going to the people that supplied the flooring? to me it sounds a bit odd that it would warp that easily. What would happen if you came in from work wet and water from an umbrella went onto it?

Yeah your right there it's disgusting. You wouldn't catch M&S treating their customers like this.

I haven't excepted the good will gesture of £100 as i felt it was like a slap in the face (here you go now go away sort of thing), he only mentioned it over the phone, like i've said most things on Asdas side has been done over the phone. I don't think they like writing letters!

Really it's my word against theirs really and Asda being the giant Company with 4 billion and odd profits a year - i guess i will lose and have to pay for the damage done.
