I'm with Northern Rock and phoned today about it and she said it wasn't covered in my Policy. I could always phone again to check.
Yes i would, your flooring only comes under buildings if its floorboards, like original wood etc, anything over the top of original floor is classed as contents

It must have been one hell of a puddle.
I have 5 children constantly spilling drinks on my laminate flooring and mine has never warped, maybe the flooring was faulty in the first place.

There was half a bottle of juice poured onto the floor in the hall and it had been lying there for 10mins before i unpacked my shopping. I cleaned most of it up but it's badly warped and even stopped my door from opening.

Nope it was perfect before Asda came in with their bags and it's not cheap laminate either but also it's not meant to be soaked which it was.

    Hold on.

Lets get this straight, faulty bottle of juice? I.e. it was broken and hence spilled.

Would this not come under the realms of consquential loss and being a bit too remote?

Sorry to hear about that, damn supermarket chains own the country :(
Just hassle them forever is my advice.

But what I would add that may be some use, is that I have laid laminate in my whole house and it is damn easy to lay yourself rather than pay someone else to do so! Honestly, I'm rubbish at DIY but this stuff is so simple. What you should be able to do is take up the affected planks and re-lay replacement ones if you still have spares or can buy the same colour?
(And I am also surprised at how easy it warped as my 3 yr old often leaves large wet patches soaking the floor without causing damage...you've been damn unlucky I think.)
Incidentally, B&Q often sell decent packs at £11 per go for 2.46sq. mtrs so if you lay it yourself it should not cost much - but do keep on at the evil Asda to cough up.
    Good luck.

I do but not accidental cover. I have accidental cover for contents but not buildings. Flooring like this is under buildings. So i'm at a loss there.

I claimed for laminate flooring in the kitchen and it was definitely covered under the contents insurance with Direct Line.

With insurance, mine is contents only as I rent and covered accidentally damaged flooring, I'd be ringing them and asking, if they won't cover it I would change companies. They usually follow it up aswell, mine was caused by faulty workmanship and eventually they claimed the payment back from who caused the damage. Saved me a lot of hassle and solicitor fees.

My contents insurance policy advises that if the laminate flooring is under the skirting boards then it's buildings. If it's up to the skirting boards (like carpet would) then it's contents. Mine goes under the skirting, so it's buildings insurance

Remember what Martin says,"if you turn your house upside down, whatever falls is contents and whatever doen't is buildings" would your flooring fall? also ins comps basically say if you would take it with you when moving it is contents, would you take your flooring?
Also 2 different types of laminate, "click" and glued, if it is the glued then removing it would ruin it.

Mine goes up to the skirting then a beading over the top, rang today to check and they said all floorings are covered.

If I was moving, yes I would take the flooring as I would be charged if I didn't as it is a rented property
