Happy Holidays N9eav & Flutter :j
Just off now for a lovely long soak in the bath before I head off to my Xmas meal.xx0 -
Was just thinking, "Toilets of the World" knocks my HM calendar with pics from last years holiday into a cocked hat.:rotfl:
Only time we've ever photographed a loo was in Belgium; in one pub in the Gents there was a notice, in Flemish, with a beckoning hand and it said underneath "Come closer, it's not as big as you think". I just had to get Mr LW to take a pic!:rotfl::rotfl:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Been snowing for last couple of hours here and is set for the night apparently:rolleyes:......wonder if school will be open tomorrow.
DS had a bit of a meltdown when we got back as he struggled with the Xmas party....he says everyone was loud and pushed infront of him for food and they were not kind, consequently he only had a couple of crisps and a choc finger:rolleyes:.
The teacher said during the meeting today that he doesnt have any particular friends to go around with but when they ask for volunteers to be his "buddy" in the playground plenty of hands go up.
Have been mulling it over this afternoon and its sad that people only go around with him when asked to by the teacher.....he seems happy enough but it bothers me as a parent that he has no one. It is one of the things I dreaded happening when he was diagnosed 4 years ago:o
Well enough of me moaning, its Xmas and I should be jolly:rotfl:....only working Mon and Tues then off as our ward closes for Xmas....strangely enough not many takers for a camera up the bum over Xmas:rotfl:
LW I couldnt believe it when I stumbled on that calendar on Amazon.....some odd ones there .....Goats up trees?......Yoga cats?0 -

Aaaaw NPM
I hope you will find that as the kids in his class get a little older, and have more awareness of other peoples' feelings, he will have some proper friends then (((HUGS)))
About unusual toilets, the Gents' at a restaurant near where my brother lives in Germany has a goal painted on the back wall, with a small football hanging from the ceiling _pale_ Sorry if tmi near teatime
Nelski - Ah, that sounds like a wise precaution
Welcome to our new posters :hello:0 -
Shattered.! Headless chicken day. FInished work at 3, bus into town then on a mighty journey (which included me on a wild goose chase and getting lost bu it all turned out ok) to get a Monty python book for my brother from a girl off freecycle. I know he will appreciate the effort so that's ok! Bus back into town . Relief at bike not having been stolen. Cycled home, did the dishes, got the bin and tidied. Now having a quick glass of wine , then off to peel the spuds for tonights dinner and sort that out.
In my pjs and all, so anything i need fromt he shop isn't getting gotten.Mum wanted to bring tinned fruit for my paverlover, but i said no, has to be fresh! I just hope it tastes bl**dy good enough after me making her get cream and fruit! :rotfl: (and isn't a vinegary pie as i did have an incident with the vinegar)
Off to light my christmas yankee and breathe for 5 minutes. Then dinner prep and serving. Good news is folks wont be here until near 8 !:jA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

I've speed read the thread and forgotten everything else so apologies if I've missed anything important.
OS - not a lot before or after a 10 hour shift. Tea was out of the freezer - fish, chips and curry sauce for the chaps and salmon, veggies and a few rustic chips for me.
no snow here but its freezing!
got to go now and help DH put his load ready at the dairy. Take care all xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Had the most fantastic blizzard this afternoon :j It hasn't all thawed so is likely to freeze tonight. I was so excited like a big kid. Please can we have more so I can take the kids sledging!
My last day of work before Christmas and the New Year tomorrow. Its not great losing money as Christmas day and new year fall on the friday I would normally work but nowt much I can do about that.
NPM - nice to see you posting. Hugs re Noah. I confess this is my fear regarding my DS but luckily he seems oblivious to having any real "friends" at the moment. It must be heartbreaking to hear xxx Lets hope when the kids are older they are little more considerate xxxx Am loving the toilet calendar though
Lowesly - I would just make sure any left overs are well heated (I know you like it quite cold but perhaps for the time being make sure you have it hot). They recommend you stay away from things in chiller cabinet and all sorts these days but as long as what you are eating isn't unpasturised, liver etc and thoroughly cooked you should be fine.
csarina - just think that if you leave your visit to Dunelm til January you might pick up even more of a bargain in January sales.......
Have a lovely evening everyone.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -
Evening all
Thanks for the kind good wishes Ivyleaf - must admit I am getting a bit nervous!
Csarina - you should have called for a cuppa whilst you were in Leeds! It would have ben nice to meet you!
Have read through the thread but can't remember which news belongs to which person so apologies:rolleyes: Been shopping most of the day - most of food shopping is done now - only fresh nearer the time stuff needed next week now so the family will have to sort that out whilst I am laid up!
Went to Morrisons, got my £25 voucher and with that together with all stamps I have collected over the year I only had £16 cash to put towards the bill. That included large turkey crown, 2 large gammon joints, drink, cheeses, dips etc etc so I am delighted with that. Feel alot better now that I am organised.
Just wish I could get fridge freezer sorted out now, engineer came today and said he will look into how much a new thermostat will cost and ring me tomorrow with a cost for repair and approx time before it could be done. I have borrowed a small fridge from a friend and we have the chest freezer so will manage if needs be but it will still have to be sorted eventually.
Anyway off to surf for a bit then might do a bit of knitting. Have a warm evening all. Oh just looked out of the window and the snow has arrived in Leeds - quite thick covering too! Stay safe and warm everyone!
x"Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you are up to........"Dieting ........... is no piece of cake!!!!:D
