    Good morning guys,

    tsk, tsk. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    funnyxmas-11.jpg

Cold, dark and wet here, I've still got my lights on

Yet another day off work today!! following on from DD being ill at the begining of the week I managed to get a day in work yesterday and then DS1 came home from school with a temp of 38.7. Chills, dizziness, headache, sore throat and white as a sheet with bright red cheeks. He's obviously got a worse dose of whatever DD had and he said 3 of his classmates were sent home yesterday with similar symptoms. DD returned back to school yesterday and said all but 2 of the nine that were out of her class are back so hopefully it will be a short lived thing.

So today I will bottom the bedrooms (after another coffee :D) strip the beds, do the ironing, and some mending that has been sitting looking hopefully at me for a couple of weeks as well as the usual clean through. Lunch will be the last of the chicken soup (DS1 hasn't eaten a thing since lunchtime yesterday, hopefully he will be tempted) and a root through the freezer for tea as I need some room for gateauxs and other stuff I will make/prep for the next couple of weeks.

Bargainbird - Happy birthday to you. xx Belated wishes to Nelski and heavenleigh I hope you both had a great day. xx

Flutterby - enjoy your hols. xx

Mark - give Annie my love and you're doing a great job :T:T

Gentle hugs to all in need today and keep warm everyone.

    Smoky. xx

  • morning all :)

its pretty cold today but no snow as yet thank goodness. i really worry about my bf when the weather is like this cos he's a despatch rider so he's on a motorbike all day- and he's well known for his ability to crash on a regular basis!

i got a really nice surprise this morning- my o/s cooking and budgeting in general is going really well- i have £40 in my purse :j:j:j. for someone who gets their benefits on a monday that is fantastic- i'm usually skint by today and end up asking bf to bring me some milk etc.

haven't decided what to do with the money yet- am thinking to put half away for bills and use the other half to get a slow cooker. i know i'm getting argos vouchers from bf's mum for xmas (what i asked for) so i dunno whether to wait till the sales and see what's about then . very strange having money in my pocket!!

on the cooking front, i have just made a batch of rolls, and i have a fridge cake setting, chilli is cooked for dinner tonight and potatoes are washed ready to go in the oven to make the wedges. hmmmm, fancy making a lemon drizzle cake- off to find a recipe....have a great day everyone!!

    Morning All ,

MSD - glad you've got an appt at the dentist, but don't stand for stroppiness! There's no need - they are there to provide a service after all.
Bargainbird - Happy Birthday chick, have a lovely day.
Molly, hilstep & Tru - ((((hugs))))
Flutterby - safe journey mind how you go.

Thank you all sooooooo much for the many congratulations DH and I received yesterday!!! A little overwhelmed I can tell you. I feel a bit odd today, a bit like I'm not here and a bit dizzy. Difficult to describe - perhaps a bit like I've had no sleep, but I've slept like a log every night for the last few nights - can't decide whether it's the cold still making me feel rough or the baby!!! Can't believe I've just typed the B word!!!! :rotfl: Have an appt booked with the doc on Monday to have it all confirmed and hopefully he'll be able to let me know roughly how far along I am. Think it's very early though so don't want to get too carried away.

Managed to get through my pile of ironing yesterday but DH cooked dinner as I was asleep on my feet by 6 o'clock! Don't know about you, but in our family, the men are always much better at eggs, DH's omelettes are truly something to behold - that's my excuse anyway! Tonight I imagine I will do something creative with mince as I really couldn't face thinking about raw meat first thing :p

Right I better get on with some work as I've just booked off the first week in January as well as Christmas so I'll not be here for 18 days soon! Hugs to all in need/want xx

Lowsey When I was pregnant for the first time I could hardly keep my eyes open! I used to come home from work, have tea and then fall asleep on the sofa until DH woke me up for bed :rotfl: I think it's normal so make the most of it ;) It was never a problem in pregnancies 2 & 3 maybe my body was used to it all by then :D I'm still thrilled for you xx

Slight change of plan:confused: due to the antics of some of the Y10's The entire year group are "enjoying" some quality time with the head, the head of Y10, the local police officer and the chair of governors:eek::eek:
    As I should be teaching a Y10 group. I am free :j:j:j:j

Smokeybabe Thank you. You are very kind.

Tired Mum Ann is desperate to go to Southend. Even more so since she found that it is a standing gig. I am hoping that I can manage to pick up a couple more tickets. Although given the (to qoute Ann) "%^$*&@@ rubbish" seats we got for Manchester (J)despite being able to buy in advance and to then see virtually the entire front row for sale on ebay who knows?

I know that lots of posters on here have children and would like your help. I need to buy a present for an 18 month Boy and his 3 1/2 year old sister(thats a lot easier though) I am struggling with the present for the boy. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Also, If anyone can think of Ann saying has wanted any type of kitchen type of appliance/item on here can you let me know please. We are not really going to celebrate next week but it would be nice to have a treat for her.
Finally, I can't find Quorn roast anywhere. It may well be me but normally at this time of year they are pretty easy to find. Has anyone seen them recently or have they been discontinued?
Classroom very cold again. Could do with a very hot very strong coffee(some hope)
Take care and again many many htanks.

Mark you are very kind posting on Annie's behalf, please say hello to her from me, I got a quorn roast in mr T last week for my dd, it was in the veggie section quite close to the ice creams ;)

Downstairs has been cleaned and scrubbed one load of washing is on the line, although the sky looks a bit snowy, and one in the wm. Just having a cuppa and some toast, and will then do upstairs and then finalise my sainsbugs delivery for the 22nd.

    Have fun xx

  • Morning everyone.

Had awful night with the kids. DD was up from 12.30 to 3am and DS woke during that time too. I am not at my best at that time of the day so cue lots of moaning from me :o
Housebound today as we are having a delivery at some point today and out hair cuts this afternoon (can't wait - having about 2 inches cut off mine as I don't like it!). It is lovely and sunny but boy it's cold enough to freeze the brass balls off a monkey  doing the school run was freezing, my poor hands are so dry despite wearing gloves and lots of moisturiser.
H off work today and tomorrow and he's currently out shopping for Christmas.

Bargainbird - Happy birthday birthday.gif Hope you have a lovely day. My total earning for ebay came to just over £50 but I may have underestimated the cost of some of the postage (even 2nd class) and 7 parcels this morning have cost £10 to send  At this rate I should have just given them all away........:(

Diva - hope tooty peg is sorted Friday. If I were you I'd moan to the Practice Manager about the lack of courtesy received from the receptionist

Tru - Hugs to you - hope you have hot water real soon xx

lowesly - take it easy and enjoy the rest while you can. Sleep will be a thing of the past once baby arrives. Still very excited for you though :o

Smokeybabe - hope DS1 is better soon x

Mark/Anniestar - naughty Y10 - hope they are very contrite
As for present ideas for 3 year old girl you can't go wrong with all things Disney Princess - my mindee is 3 and she's mad on it. For 18 month old boy the Early Learning Centre has lots of cars that join together with magnets etc Link here http://www.elc.co.uk/toys/baby-toddler-toys/first-vehicles/?filter=filter&category=570

Right off to look if I've got to parcel up some more ebay stuff.
Have a good day OS or not. Hugs to those that need them.
