i would never buy a thong for a ten year old though (to me that something older girls/women wear for thier boyfreinds/partners )

I wouldn't either, yet to me a thong is sexless underwear worn mainly to avoid VPL.

I know they can be sexy, but when worn regularly, they are done so for (hidden) aesthetic reasons and not because one's partner is following them around like a rampant rabbit.

ETA: Actually if my 9 year old actually asked for a thong, I'd probably buy her one, because it would not be for any sexual based reason. She was very upset that we could see her underwear through her white outfit for her recent Xmas play for example, hence my after thought. I'd never actually think 'maybe a thong would be good for this', probably since I wear them as infrequently as possible, but I'm not hung up about them in the way I would be about Playboy or FCUK branded items, partly because they aren't on show.
  • It's a doddle when they are sleeping ;) Although a parents work is never done, when they are asleep you can at least get on with things

Very funny! Yes, I really should get off here and tidy up downstairs. ;)

I don't know about you, but I have kids old enough to tidy up for me. You need one perk for having to endure living with teenagers :rotfl:

Theoretically or practically?! Mine are 8 and 9; one is great at tidying up, the other would rather die (and finds it difficult).

Just read your signature; 7 girls! And congrats on the new girlfriend. :)

Either theoretically or practically will do, as long as it's done! Although the one that is great at it may resent the other for not, but I guess you already have the arguements!

I'm quite lucky with my clan as they've had 2 bad mothers and they do the opposite of them deliberately as they don't want to be like them, although 15yo does it at her leisure :rotfl:

Thanks, she's a lovely young lady. I'm not used to being in a relationship with someone so nice.

okay it wasnt meant as insult its a passsing comment perhaps i could have phrased it "you have nothing better to do "
and as ive said before i dont think you did it for poor reasons you thought you were doing whats best for your daughter

you seem to have some issues regarding your daughter ie not wanting her to see stuff that you yourself would be offended by
which i suppose is fair enough none of us would like to see our 10 year spouting bad language or dressing like a prostitute

but you cant hide those things from her because they can learn it elsewhere evan at 10

Agreed, but they don'rt need to see it at home. This just gives the message that it is acceptable.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

Or even telling them a Virgin gave birth.;)

Not the same . We KNOW Father Christmas is made up. Whether a Virgin giving birth is made up is a matter of opinion.

Father Christmas is Santa Claus, who is Saint Nicholas and not made up.

Saint Nicholas is not made up, I agree, but the fat man with the red costume and long white beard from Lapland who comes down the chimney to leave presents and has a sleigh pulled by Rudolph and his team that flies through the sky, is.

No proof for the reindeers and sledge, but saints can do anything including flying through the air and this picture shows a fat bloke with a long white beard in a red costume ;)
