they took me in too, cant believe i fell for it , how do we find these guys though and what can we really do about it ?0
-
i have been scammed by these people too, is there any way of getting our money back, would martin get on tv to publicise it ? can the credit card companies help ?0
-
If you speak to your bank if you did a deposit then they could give you your money back. That's what Im doing. They are doing a fraud investigation.0

I was one of the lucky ones as I got my money back as I paid via debit card, they gave a refund and sent a letter saying they couldnt take debit card payments and if I wanted the sale to continue then to repay via bank transfer, for which I didnt, that was the last I heard from them, feel so sorry for those who paid by Bank transfer as it seems like the moneys gone, but can I ask.. a few phone numbers have been put on this thread, most notably david shaws personal mobile number.. has anyone rang it? hope you all manage to get your money back but it seems doubtful.0

i rang all the mobile numbers posted on this forum DAVID SHAWS,MICHAEL RLLS AND EVEN PETER STEVENS but guess what they all keep going to answer phone TESCO MOBILE & VODAFONE. another thing i see on a recent post today about getting money back , as i said before if you have paid by credit card you should be entitled to a full refund via section 75 consumer credit act.Theywill ask you for as much information as you have but if you had as much as i did you will be successful it may take time but you should be ok.0

Hi Guys
Saw this thread and thought I would post being that I work within the sector. I am sorry that many of you have been scammed by such companies who have taken your money and then are uncontactable but I thought for those who do not know the procedure should understand what it actually entails.
Firstly never give money from the onset, by this I mean that say you are being asked to pay for the valuation on the house then ask to say why? As a company, 9/10 we will pay for the valuation and in instances where we don't we back up that any valuation that is paid is then refunded on completion of a sale and if for any reason the sale does not go ahead to no fault of the vendor then this is refunded in full.
Where a company requests that you pay legal fees again ask them why and how much? A typical company should again be requesting these fees by the buyer and not the vendor. The company would request the seller to contribute a certain amount bu this should not be the case for any costs below around £600.
I hope this helps. Should wish anymore clarifications then do let me know.
In the instances of people who have been scammed, have you spoken to FSA or even just try speaking to fraud department of your bank

Dear all,
It may offer you all some comfort to know that Sutton CID are working on this very case (based at Sutton police station, Surrey). There is also a government fraud hotline (look on the Directgov website it could be there as I have forgotten its name) that I contacted. They were very nice, took all the details and that's how CID got involved. I guess I have learnt the hard way about fraudsters. Perhaps it is time the govt legislated estate agents.0 -

Bettybooooop,
Exactly when did all this happen? In the last few weeks, or some months ago? We though this outfit had ceased their scam attempts due to the publicity they got on boards such as this."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
