Oh wow. I knew this would happen. Ms flower fairy, I'm sorry that you lost your baby. However I still stand by what I said. Eating something that is not meant for consumption while pregnant is stupid and irresponsible. Especially as you do not know how it will affect the child. There are many things in life that will catch your eye, only a few will catch your heart. Pursue those.0

All but the very "green" varieties of soap contain SLS which originated as garage floor cleaner, it was then introduced to soaps, shampoos etc because it gives a good lather. It should not be eaten infact it should only come into contact with the skin for short periods of time according to its scientific chemical information sheet. I wouldn't put that rubbish on my childrens' skin let alone feed it to them, which is in effect what is happening. Not sure what the other chemicals are in Dove but you can bet they aren't good.
Thought this link might help0 -
If you don't want to take iron suppliments, then how about making a big egg and spinach salad every day for your lunch? Wash it down with some orange juice and this will help your iron uptake."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
Ah, it must be a lovely, straightforward world you live in!!!
You know what, life doesn't always work out like that, some of us get knocked up by accident, stumble through pregnancy and early parenthood making a slightly ham-fisted job of it, but it all works out ok. Kind of. By and large. For the most part. In its own sweet way. You get the picture.
Well - one where I believe in being in control of my life - and not at the whim of my body or anything else if I can help it. Though I DO know that I am much much more concerned with my life being under my control and going "According to Plan" than most people from what I see. I've found that job losses and bouts of ill health have been outside my control unfortunately - so had to deal with them as best I can when they happened. But - I dont believe in letting things that ARE under my control get "out of control" 'tis true. Hence why if I had wanted children I would have sat down and thought:
Months 1-6 pre-conception = super healthy diet starts now
Baby 1 (assuming there was no problem with conceiving)
Gap of 2 years and that super healthy diet again in the last 6 months of that time
Baby 2 (again - assuming no problem with conceiving and no unexpected financial problems cropping up in that time)
Family now complete
Live happily ever after - hopefully......
But thats the way I live my life I know...
It never came to it - as My Lifeplan was - there will be no children ever and there never were. Lifeplan went according to plan in that respect - tick box 10/10.0 -
My mum craved boot polish with all four children and we are all fit and well .0

I didn;t have any cravings. But I don;t think I'd have let myself eat soap! Definitely look into whether it means you have a deficiency in something, otherwise the tip for getting it under your nails sounds good. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Hi ,
The condition you have is called Pica .. http://www.eatingdisorderexpert.co.uk/PicaDisorder.html
Pica Disorder is a relatively rare eating disorder in which an individual ingests non-food substances such as chalk, soil, paper, plaster, paint chips and more. Since it is not a common disorder, few people understand . It can occur in pregnancy.
In addition to chalk, soil, paper, plaster, and paint chips, individuals with pica may also be drawn to and enjoy eating glue, faeces, insects, leaves, gravel, clay, laundry detergent or starch, baking soda, cigarette ashes or butts, ice, hair, soap and buttons. Individuals may also be drawn to eating raw ingredients that have not yet been combined into cooked food, such as floor and raw potatoes. Usually these items are consumed in addition to an otherwise normal diet, and so do not prohibit the individual from consuming healthy food as well.
Trust me I know how you feel
For me it was chalk !! I couldn't walk past WH Smith for months
I would speak to your midwife as soon as you can . Take care0 -

Do you fart bubbles?
My suggestion? Turkish Delight, I always though that was a bit soapy tasting.
OP, I agree with whoever said about aero - why not try some of that instead of the soap? :undecided0 -
Craved it or ate it?
She ate it was back in the 50s ,she would hide under the stairs with a tin and just dip her fingers into the tin and lick them ,it had to be black polish she would hide because she did not like people knowing about it .
I craved black shapes dog biscuits and would eat them when no one was around. My iron was very low as was my mums , My sister craved plaster and would scratch the walls and then bite her nails , we women are very strange when pregnant .0
