  • Hi all. Just thought I'd share with you how I finally got my refund. Every time I rang the lad on the phone refused to put me through to Joseph. Occasionally I would get a message left by a girl called Parice/Paris who asked me to call her back which when I did I got told they can't transfer calls to her!!!

Anyway, I had the day off to look after the kids so I set my day aside to be a pain. I kept calling and said I wouldn't go until Jo came to the phone. At one point he told the lad to put the phone down on me so I withheld my number and called back. I said I would wait on the line until the refund was done. Basically, as my calls are free all day (god bless sky) I just kept calling and made it plain that I would hog their sales line all day until I got a refund.

    So they did.

Absolutely shoddy way to run a business though. Wasted so much of my time and the wife still hasn't got a shower door fitted!

WELL DONE :T you must be very tenacious! My bathroom is finally being fitted this week thanks to master card refund (see earlier thread) and a good plumber who has sorted everything out for me.
I had been put off buying from the internet as a result of dealing with J A BAthrooms but have just this week had a couple of successful and efficient internet purchases elsewhere. Hope your shower is finished soon.
  • The problem is not us, the customer booked the plumber without allowing enough time for receiving and checking the goods.
Normally the waste and overflow for this type of ideal standard bath of this sort attached to the back of the bath, no other waste will do, only this specific waste will do.
The bath passed Ideal Std. inspection and the distributors inspection without them noticing that the waste was not stapled to the back of the bath we never forgot to include the waste it wasn’t attached to the bath and we acted immediately and successfully and kept our word to get ideal standard to make the delivery of the waste the next day.

  • We purchased a new Heritage Granley bathroom suite, Mira shower tray and shower enclosure from J A Bathrooms on 11th August 2010. The person on the end of the phone (Joe) was very helpful, particularly about the shower door we were thinking of purchasing. That evening we happened across this forum and were rather worried about what we had done.
No Need, J A Bathrooms kept us informed as to what was going on, sent a detailed invoice via email and a lovely girl called Paris phoned to tell us when the suite would be arriving. It arrived as she said on Wednesday 25th August. It was securely and adequately packaged, clearly marked with our address in Pembrokeshire, West Wales.
We quickly checked every piece and all was intact. 10/10 for price and customer service.
  • Unfortunately we find ourselves in the same situation as many in this forum. No goods, no refund and a company not interested in speaking to us and happy to break the law.

Calling them is a waste of time as the idiots that answer the phone are unable to make decisions and give out incorrect information to get rid of you. The manager/director Joseph Charles Garnham will not speak to customers so no progress is ever made as he does not reply to emails or postal letters.

We are actively reporting Joseph Garnham to Trading Standards and will let you know how we get on.

As mentioned in previous posts he is a Director of 3 companies, Eurowood Products Ltd., JA Bathrooms and Chique Bathrooms. His home address can be obtained from a domain site lookup on any of the above sites.
  • Thanks for the heads up on this company. I'm currently researching a new bathroom and will avoid this lot like the plague!
  • I would just like to re-iterate the comments made by other users regarding the total lack of customer service JA bathrooms offer. We all look for a bargain but believe me if you buy from this company you will regret it. They are very quick to take your money and make false promises on delivery times (made as a sweetner to get your order). They never answer the sales telephone which all goes to a BT answer phone and the other number is always off the hook. E-mails are answered sometimes but not with any conviction. I ordered an item on the understanding that it would be delivered within 2 days. It never arrived and all I got from JA was email saying it was out for delivery, but said it would be with me the next working day. It did not arrive. Struggling to get money back. Credit card company can only intervene after 15 days. This causes problems when you need the product.
  • Hi all,

I ordered a new Techflow QT120 shower pump from this shambolic organisation on October 13th - way before discovering this forum, unfortunately - and was told it was in stock and, after payment, would be delivered on the 15th. Of course that day came and went, as did numerous calls and emails for the next 12 days, until a pump finally turned up on the 27th October.

Naturally, given JA's proven incompetence, it was the wrong pump, being a Negative Head model when I ordered a Positive Head one. Paradoxically, the Negative Head QT120 is priced £100 higher on JA's website than the one I ordered!

Anyway when I informed the firm that after two weeks of waiting they'd delivered the wrong pump, I actually got a call from Joe who asked me to call JA on November 3rd (a week later - that'll be the seven day return period then...) as that would be when the correct Positive Head pump would be in stock and we could arrange a courier to deliver the correct pump and pick up the wrong one at the same time.

I gave JA an extra day before I called on November 4th, and a lady answered the phone. She told me she'd pass the details of my case to JA's 'Aftersales Dept' who'd be in touch ASAP. I called again the next day to see if anything had been arranged, they said they'd call me back and never did.

Yesterday - November 8th - my wife called JA only to be put on hold before they put the phone down on her, so I emailed demanding a full refund. 24 hours later they still haven't answered the email and their phone line is perpetually busy.

So after 27 days and umpteen wasted phone calls and emails I still have no shower and the wrong pump sat in my hallway. What to do next? Cancel the payment with my credit card supplier, seek recompense through the Small Claims Court or pay a visit to Just Abysmal Bathrooms in person?

    Help!!
