  • I am embarrassed to say I am a former employee of Joseph Garnham and can confirm all of your problems would have been 100% true . To speak to him you will need to pretend to be a new customer - he used to trade as "euro wood products" but that has gone into liquidation so he just re opened under a new name "Essex bathroom" which from the last time I check he didn't put himself as the owner . The staff there try there very best to help customers but all decisions do go down to Joe . I am so sorry to those who have had bad experiences with him and unless you can walk into the shop and walk out with goods or order them from " frontline" I suggest you stay clear of this man but even then he doesn't deserve any customers as honest businesses are going down while he still stands . He put me through hell for 3 years a normal week for me would end in tears where this man is so nasty and how he treats his customers and staff is disgusting !! Don't trust a word his says and ALWAyS pay by credit card ( and ask him to destroy your details as he stores them all in just folders and they are not even locked away) . Again I will say the staff there are lovely it's just the owner that is the BIG problem !

That's interesting that you say Essex-bathrooms.co.uk are essentially the same company as JABathrooms. They are certainly based in close proximity. Certainly one to watch and do thorough research on before spending any money with them.

ETA there is also essexbathroom.co.uk which is also in a similar area so I think the advice would be to tread very carefully with any online bathroom company.
  • i would however advise going to “Southwoodham bathrooms” if you do live near i was dealing with this company for some time and they are a honest company who value there customers - can get you everything J A bathrooms can ! it wont let me do a link but type into your search engine and it should come up

I had to pick up a table from Westcliff on Sea, and thought about going this Saturday so I could visit Garnham, and see what the scum bag looks like. In the end I went on Tuesday evening after work. I can see how he thrives there, it looks a bit run down, probably cheap land and rates, plenty of people needing work, and finding it difficult to go elsewhere. The staff I spoke to clearly know what he is like. One woman asked me if I'd paid by credit card, and when I said no, she seemed genuinely sad, knowing I'd probably lost it.

I am surprised there is no way to close this man down, and stop him trading, but I think Trading Standards are weak - underpaid and too nice - and he is wise to all the tricks.

Eurowood was his trading company which appeared on your bank statement. So presumably you now see Essex Bathrooms. Maybe banks did get wise to him. As said, it is banks allowing him to trade that are part of the problem.
