I'd like to go and take a look at this road; can you tell me where it is, by PM?
Thanks.
Sarah
Hi Sarah
I havent replied to tell you where it is yet as they obviously read this site and I dont want to make it too easy for them...let them look thru their records! If they do manage to trace the ticket and track me down thru DVLA etc. then I will tell you where it is. For the same reason just in case you have anything to do with the company I havent replied to your personal message! I think a bit of healthy paranoia is a good thing sometimes0 -
Just because the road is unadopted doesn't mean that the person who THINKS they own it actually do. Double check the sign too - probably numerous mistakes.
For example.. if he mentions clamping.. he hasn't got a licence.
Funny you should mention that....I went around there last night to have another look at the sign, it does say they can ticket you, clamp you, or tow you away. It also says permit parking but there is no indication of how and where you need to apply to for a permit.
I ended up talking to a couple of decorators who are working on a house on that street who had parked there yesterday morning and they had to run out into the street as their van was about to be clamped! As soon as the decorators confronted the guy about to clamp them and said they were working on one of the houses the guy let them both off!!!! How can they have one rule for them and another for me???0 -

Might be worth checking the council to see if the road is adopted or not, not because you want to pay but to stop the ppc from doing it to anyone else if they are not entitled to.
You were right! I told the first policewoman I spoke to that you had already predicted this! However, both she and a policeman I spoke to were both helpfull despite this. The policewoman even tried the phone number on the ticket but had no joy, she did say that she was aware of the company though because of previous problems on Gala Bingo.
I have got their number now and have been told that if anyone turns up at the house then I should ring them immediately and they will send someone round to check the "baliffs credentials and warrant" and that if they are real then they wont mind waiting for the police to arrive!0 -
It's good that you've raised PCN_UK's profile with the Police again - and great that they were already aware of the company!
BTW Sarah1969 is a regular knowledgeable expert on parking tickets on here - she is also on pepipoo.com Fightback Forums I think, but I can understand your healthy paranoia which is no bad thing. Stay strong, keep any letters the scammers send to you - maybe your case will be the one that breaks the camel's back!
FWIW I very much doubt that the owner of a property can clamp people who park outside, even on an unadopted road. Surely illegal? I am pretty sure this point was discussed on pepipoo last month - may be worth Sarah1969 searching there as it may name the road - could be the same place.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Deb - I understand your reticence. However, I promise I have no affiliation to (or affection for!) any PPC.
Coupon-mad - I'll recheck pepipoo. I'm determined to find out where this road is, and pay a little visit!0 -

So he's actually clamping people now.
A criminal offence I do believe.0 -
To add to all of the other Statutes he is (Allegedly) breaking0

The posted document takes it well beyond just an allegation.0

Hi Sarah
I hope I didnt offend you too much by suggesting you may work for these people/conmen, I just had to decide which way to play it first!! The road is called Avenham Road, it is just off the top of Gillibrand Street near the town centre. I would be quick if you want to see it though as Ive got half the neighbours up in arms so Im not sure how long it will be there. They had a lucky escape when they didnt clamp the cage-fighting decorator who confronted them!0
