  • Can I have an e-bet and predict they will say "Sorry its a civil matter."
Might be worth checking the council to see if the road is adopted or not, not because you want to pay but to stop the ppc from doing it to anyone else if they are not entitled to.

And thats exactly what I expect ...but I just want to doublecheck their phone number as they will be getting a phone call from me if I receive any unwanted visitors - especially from the sound of the posts on here as I will not be bullied!
  • Deb,

If anecdotal reports on this forum are anything to go by, it would seem PCN-UK are prepared to go to some crazy (and certainly illegal!) lengths to obtain payment.

If you receive a visit from their "bailiffs" rest assured that they are nothing of the sort. Refuse to speak with them, and call the police if they refuse to leave.

If they claim to have a "warrant" then they are committing a very serious criminal offence.

Put all your friends and neighbours on their guard about this company and their antics, and join the Facebook campaign.

Will be joining the facebook group asap and was already planning to visit all the neighbours tonight after talking to the police. I dont want them to try and fine any of them plus they will also be able to keep an eye out and act as witnesses to any bailiffs if need be.

I'd like to go and take a look at this road; can you tell me where it is, by PM?

    Thanks.

Just because the road is unadopted doesn't mean that the person who THINKS they own it actually do. Double check the sign too - probably numerous mistakes.
For example.. if he mentions clamping.. he hasn't got a licence.

Yes, I doubt that an individual householder would own all of the street or even tho portion outside their house in an unadopted road.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

Debchorley, can you make out the name of either of the "wardens" who issued the ticket, I ask this as we would all find it incredibly amusing if one of the wardens is a Mr A Sheridan-Wood (Or a variant as he drops parts of his names sometimes).

P.S If you do get a visit from his "Bailiffs" ask them which court they are authorised by and ask for their badge numbers. They will find this very very un nerving if they are up to no good. (There is plenty of good advice on dealing with debt collectors on MSE, you can even serve them with a notice to desist from harrasment in a lot of cases)

    sarahg1969,
May I suggest that if you have not already done so that you follow the link posted by Coupon-Mad in post number 134 (or thereabouts).
    Much wrongdoing.

Voucherman - I recommend you remove that post. It was posting stuff like that which got the first PCN thread closed.
I'm sure we can stop this company fleecing people without resorting to personal harrassment.

Yes, I've seen that. I would like to visit the road in question (as it's local to me), just out of curiosity.
