just got up after working last night and back in tonight at 8pm so no real time (or energy) to tackle a whole room

Off for a shower now, then make tea, I intend having a relaxing night tonight, ready for tackling kitchen tomorrow, then gonna hoover and mop all floors, quick once over of bathroom, then thats me finished for weekend. Its my birthday on saturday, so the family will be 'in charge' of everything then, by sunday, the place will look like a bombsite again :rotfl:

'Phew!
Vaccumed the hall, stairs & living room - including ceiling corners and skirting boards.
Washed down all surfaces in those areas
Completed tidy up in living room.
Took a break from the challenge to peg out washing and have a lovely soak in the bath, then....
Cleared very messy kitchen (clutter and ingredients everywhere)
Cleaned lots of tupperware
Rehomed lots of cooking ingredients into tupperware to prevent further 'spills.
Washed units & dining table
Vacumed then washed lino.
Colapsed on sofa with and fell asleep!!!
Unless I can get an early night tonight (desperately needed but DS2 is playing another gig tonight.....) I'm going to have to just do the 'home blessing' tomorrow and wait until Monday to get going again on the challenge.
I'm really proud of all I have achieved, and really gratefull to Moggins for starting the thread and to everyone who has taken part and so inspired me to give it a good shot.
What do you guys think? Should I rest up tomorrow and get going again on Monday? I know that I need to get some shopping done tomorrow and I find that very draining (I know it will sound pathetic to some, but I think some of you understand) I'm not saying that I'm not going to do anything - just take it a bit easier, only the normal cleaning and cooking..... What do you reckon?

Kazonline, rest tomorrow and get going again on Monday would be my advice, at least that'swhat I'm doing!:D
I am so grateful to moggins for the challenge and can't believe what I've achieved in the last four days. I've actually rediscovered some discipline! When my 4 children were small I was more organised than I have been of late. I think it was because I had to keep to some sort of timetable, you know school, nursery class etc. With deadlines it kept me focussed. Now my days are largely flexible I've drifted into putting things off, there'll always be time another day. Not any more, I plan to keep on top of things. It has been a joy getting up in the morning to be faced with an ever tidier, cleaner house!:D
Sorry, didn't mean to monopolise the thread, just very happy:oYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Wow, Kaz, you've even worn me out with that, I am really impressed. Churchmouse, I'm glad to have been of some help
Hopefully now that big clean is done, all you will need is a swish and swipe to keep on top of it.
My kitchen was looking lovely until tea time but at least corners that have never seen light for ages have all been wiped and dusted. I'll wait until after DS has loaded the dishwasher then follow on behind and wipe stuff down.
I can't moan because tea was roast chicken and a green salad which had to be thoroughly washed and cleaned because it had been freshly picked from my own garden.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Hello everyone
Looks like there are lots of happy, or happier, campers doing this challenge. I'm so glad Moggins threw down the gauntlet too!
So now, after my unplanned sleepathon which I had yesterday, I'm onto the kitchen and dining room - all one room though a big one. I'm just doing surfaces and cleaning the inside of the fridge, but not doing inside cupboards. There just isn't enough time when I come in from w*** to do cupboards, wardrobes, drawers and so on as well. At least it will look and smell nice and clean. I'll do the cupboards and stuff over the weekend, or into next week. If I manage to get finished fairly early I'll take some clutter from the front room upstairs. I've got a pile of boxes containing light fittings, just need to get a sparky in to put them on. Overall my plan is to use this challenge to get the whole place straightened out, then after that it will be a bit of daily and weekly maintenance and try to avoid going back to the grot hole the house was before.
Kaz - yes, I think if you need a breather then you should definitely take one. It's not like you're going to end up back at square one - but you'll be raring to go again once you've had a rest.
Moggins - well done on your lightbulb moment on top of the fridge.
Quackers - how's it going? I don't half fancy a Snickers ice cream right now, yum! I could defo manage three on a PMT day as well - doesn't cure it of course, but is an excellent distraction.
Spendless - what's this architect in the home week? Where on the site are the details?
Am going to have a bit of a browse through the site now and then get on with the kitchen.
Bye!

Back to flylady. I have now completed kitchen :j except for cleaning oven and floor. There was no point doing floor till I'd done cooker and I never had anything in to do oven with. (not even bicarb:p). My kitchen leads off from my dining room so I think of them as 2 seperate rooms rather than 1 large. I have also done half of the dining room side and will do my best to get this finshed. There is a mountain of paperwork that needs sorting:eek: . Fortunately I have another extended day to get things done as DS is picked up from school by nan on a Friday:A , so get till 5.30 when need to get DD from nursery. DS enjoyed going to his after-school club, so one less thing to worry about next year if I return to work/college and need to send him.

Hi,
New to the Os Board and the FLC board, I am going to take up the challenge starting tomorrow, A SAHM at the moment, but not for much longer I think, so I must get the house sorted before I look to return to some kind of paid work. Its taken me almost an evening reading the FLC threat.
Next week I am attempting to give up smoking, how are you doing Moggins? Its not easy I have attempted in the past, but I have been reading a website called Whyquit, it really has made me think.
Off to grab a coffee and find a A4 folder.
Thanks Moggins for this threat, it has given me a much needed kick up the b@ckside.0 -
Hello FRUGAL
:j
Hope you enjoy the challenge - it is so rewarding seeing the house transform itself from grotty hovel to clean and welcoming home. Best of luck with your giving up smoking - I've been "clean" of cigs since June 1999, about seven years...OMG! That's about :eek:£11,500:eek::eek:OMG OMG OMG I haven't spent !!! Oh bl00min' Nora where is all that cash for it ain't in my bank account???!!! Oops sorry FRUGAL have nearly passed out with shock at that calculation - based on at least one pack of 20 a day every day. Errm as I was saying, it is so worthwhile to quit the "coffin nails" so again, best of luck (and to you too Moggins).

Oh yeah...came on to say that I've done the kitchen from the top of the cupboards all the way down to about ankle height. Haven't done the floor. Hate washing floors...gonna do the entire ground floor with one bucket of Stardrops at the weekend.0
