Hello everyone
My attempt at rising to the challenge went splat today. Fell asleep almost immediately I got home from w***. Today was supposed to be the day I cleaned the front room (which I don't use anyway) and do the hall. I've decided to rearrange my plans, so will crack on with the kitchen and dining room tomorrow evening as I had originally scheduled. The hall and front room will wait until weekend. I know I could have a go at one or the other now, but it's too late in the day, can't be ar$ed, am still tired...blah blah blah it's simply not going to happen.
I did nowt today so Moggins wotcha gonna do about it, ner ne ner ne ner!!!!? (SnowyOwl is now scurrying off to hide behind EdinburghLass...)
See you all tomorrow

Well I read the start of this thread with *mild* interest, no more. Was ill at beginning of week, so thought no more consciously - so could you please explain to me - why oh why I've just spent the past 11 hrs cleaning one room ... and no it wasn't THAT bad, honest guv.
Admittedly, I've also looked after DD (2.5yrs), cooked dinner, cleaned up after dinner, put dd to bed .. and erm, that'd be it then ...
However, I do have a very sparkly office now - including having cleaned all the bookshelves and sorted out all the paperworkoh and re-arranging all the furniture.
Tomorrow - back to work for a rest!! So, that's me back to 15 mins of contemplation of it allGC - March 2024 -0 -
All I can say is that's life!! Enjoy your rest tomorrow, actually later today!!You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0

Evening all
I've been reading the thread and muttering to myself 'well done' when I see what people have achieved today :T
I have to admit that I haven't deep cleaned anywhere, but the FL challenge has inspired me to keep on top of washing-up (I'm terrible for saying to myself 'I'll do that tomorrow morning), washing, ironing and keeping the lounge, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom tidy. Not a lot I know, but for me....3 days without clutter building up is a miracle! I admit I'm a bit of a horder (sp?)
Go on, you know you all want to keep on working so hard to inspire me tomorrow

I managed to dust the living room thoroughly, scrub the kitchen sink, and wash the window sills down.
DH came in and saw me slaving away while also trying to cook dinner, and he hoovered up all of the downstairs, and emptied and cleaned the kitchen bin for me, as he had been throwing things out as he had found them under chairs and the settee.
So, even if i haven't managed a whole room yet, i am still on top of downstairs, as i made sure that after we had eaten i washed up and wiped the kitchen sides down again. How does everything get so sticky??
So today, i will try to leave work at 3 again, and tackle the bathroom. The house may not be spotless by the end of the week, but it will certainly be a lot more motivating to know that i have achieved so much in a short space of time.
The only spanner to the plans is that i promised i would visit my brother who has just had his tonsils out. I might postpone that until tomorrow.
Well, best get on with making the packed lunches,
Michelle, xx0 -
WOW!! You've all done so well, even people who thought they wouldn't be able to take part in the challenge have done so! I feel so proud of you all even though I can't take any of the credit.
Learning to save I'm sorry you hate me, but I bet that clean sparkly kitchen makes you glow inside eh?
Mushypeas the fact that you have done more than you usually do is still great even if you haven't done a deep clean.
Michelle It's so nice that your DH is appreciating what you do so much that he is helping out too, give that man a gold star from meOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things
