Oh nooooooo don't say that, once you do you'll keep checking this thread for everyone's updates then you'll feel like you HAVE to do it, even though you've changed your mind and it's too much hard work anyway. I just know that someone will somehow know if I don't do it :rotfl:

My bathroom's all sparkly now :D

I know the time I've given to that devil over the years...............:D
Moggins that list you posted reminds me of when I used to clean for others, I used to keep a record on my computer so I knew where i was the next time I went and I used to feel so fit and virtuous.
Arrive at house start, keep going, finish, home for coffee and fag:rolleyes: :o
I just can't get up the same enthusiasm of being so thorough with my own house and this is not an excuse but arthritis doen't help.

Queenie I know what it's like to struggle with things that are not quite right.
I know you're clever what about replacing that blind with a pretty net curtain on a piece of wood and cup hooks, that's worked for me in the past so has finding an old piece of material around the house, like an old duvet cover or curtain
Just glue some hems and stick it up.
    Best wishes to you anyway:beer:

High praise to the rest of you workers, hope your families appreciate it and you reward yourselves this evening with a glss of something and maybe a nice bubble bath then a soothing massage from Mr whoever.
Women and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)

    Hello everyone

I've only just got back from w*** (well, 20 mins ago, with a detour to Sainsbury's to buy some rubber gloves for the cat hair problem). I have done nothing all day (other than eight hours slaving over a big pile of paper at the office but that doesn't count for purposes of the Flylady Challenge).

Having read Moggins' summary of what she did in the bathroom I am stunned and scared at the same time. I'm starting with the bathroom, but am **not** going to be scrubbing the walls!!!! I have to be brave and clean the loo brush...it makes me gag just thinking about it.

My plan of action is to get the bath mat and towels into the washing machine, and to have finished the bathroom, landing (v.small) and stairs by the time the machine has finished.

Queenie - you're all stressed you poor thing, you've got too much on your plate. I'd suggest a nice long soak but the bathroom ain't your favourite room. Maybe a short shower later, then get one of your Princes or Princesses to rub some nice relaxing stuff into your shoulders and an early night? I think if you just go for the "clean enough" option that's all you need to do. Save your energy for things and people who will love you back. If you want to move, then perhaps the end of this challenge will be a good time to put the house on the market as it'll look as good as it's going to by then.

Ahh...did somebody say "procrastinate"? Moggins don't you dare kick my botty!!!!

    See you all later.

Hun, you can do it. I have arthritis too, in my knees hips, hands and neck, but it's not going to stop me having a house that I am not too ashamed to invite people into. My friend thinks I am going off her as I keep leaving her stood on the doorstep.

Queenie - how about making a blind? I made some very cheap ones when I first moved in, one long piece of fabric hemmed on four sides with a very large hem at the top, big enought to slide a broomstick in. Then I stitched 2 long peices 1/4 of the way in from each end. I stitched a couple of marbles into the bottom hem and then hung the broomstick from hooks in the window frame, tied the blind up with the ties and it looked really pretty as the middle loops down the the ends sort of fan out.

Thats reminded me I need to do that when I reach the living room - its my first time - what do you use to blacken it?

I usually buff it up with some orange oil, the hearth too. ;)

You got just one email Mushy Peas! That sounds v.v.different to the flylady emails I used to get totally bombarded with.

So tell me, did you get the email telling you to get dressed before or after work today?

    Hiya Moggins,
My hand used to be the worse bit but now it's both my feet which affect my kness then my hips
I do clean honest:D the worse part is I'm disorganised and a bit untidy.
I'll do the washing then straighten it and leave it on the bed in the spare room or somewhere then i'm rifling through to try and find something and then it's there so long I feel it's not fresh so I wash it over again and the cycle goes on.....:o

or I'll start a room and not QUITE finish unlike when I did for others nothing would satisfy me than leaving it all neat and sparkly for them.
Sympathy with your arthritis I have an appointment soon at Rheumatoid clinic I'm hoping they can stop the rot:D

  • Oh dear, reading through what you've all been up to is making me feel guilty, I'm supposed to have done the kitchen, but I've not even cleared the washing up yet! Oh well, football starts in a bit so I'll go and do it then.
