Thanks all for your tips - and especially moggins for my well done, I feel like I'd been given a gold star:D :D I'm really chuffed!
As for the strawberry flavour - I wouldn't know, honest Mam!

Bicarb is still down and will pick up some white vinegar tomorrow as I'm in Tesco straight from school drop off as I have a 'medication review' with the pharmacist. Never had one before and I'm dead curious as to what it's about......

I'm going to re do the challenge next week, but swop the odd job - eg wash walls may become lay new lino.....

Ingredients are in B/m and its set. S/C has tomorrows stock bones defrosting overnight. Flylady would be ticking me off for not being in bed by now as I need my rest......

Forever skint - that made me chuckle. Perhaps you ought to put up an eveiction notice in the hope they'll pack up and leave voluntarily???

For me tomorrow is Bedroom (mine - lol, in both meanings of the word!!) clearing day. This is going to be a BIG challenge for me as it contains lots baskets full of bits that I 'can't possibly do without' .... IYKWIM :rotfl: The boys are responsible for doing their own rooms otherwise they'll have no toys left. Once I've got to grips with the rest of the house I may start to help 'develop' their cleaning techniques again (with the aid of a skip.....)

I think I will need to print out Moggins checklist to help keep me focused on this one!

Good night and sleep tight all!
    Kaz

PS to those who were wise and got a good night kip (therefore in the land of nod when this is posted) GOOD MORNING!!!!

Och dear, Edinburghlass, I was wondering where you'd got to.

Don't worry, you haven't failed, you just haven't started yet. Maybe you were a wee bit too optimistic about what you're likely to achieve? Perhaps tomorrow you could just use your timer and tackle your chosen room in bursts of 15 minutes and go like the clappers for those minutes. You might surprise yourself and do 2 or 3 x 15 minutes. If you don't like it, well, I'll set Moggins on you.....

    See you tomorrow hopefully...

Kazonline, do refer to moggins checklist before you start,or you could end up like me today!!! Thought I'd finished and was so proud, only to discover I'd only done half the job :o Took another hour to finish off, and I felt so ashamed to have "missed" so much.

    Hoping for abetter "challenge" tomorrow.:D

Goodnight, going to watch some TV then bed, got to be up at 6 to go to the gym.

Thank you for your kind words and encouragement. :o

I did take myself off to bed for a siesta and slept for a shameful 2 hrs :o But at least I awoke a little more optimistic and lot more determined. I'm off out for the day today so I'm going on the look out for some flooring. It'll have to be easy to lay tiles so I can patch any mistakes I make, never done it before so I shall be consulting the DIY bible to build up some confidence (now, if it were a dolls house floor .... noooooo problem! )

Need to get a wire brush too and see if I can attack the rusting bits and hopefully salavage something there instead of having to have it replaced.

Once refreshed, I decided it was ok to turn my back on the bathroom and instead, took a hard look at the kitchen. Nothing major, but all the surfaces got a good going over, cleared, junk mail shredded, and odds and bobs thrown out ready for bin men. This morning, the gulls have attacked all the rubbish bags and the whole avenue is shrewn with rubbish!

I've got 2 recycling bags to take to the carpark bins this morning. When I get back from my day out, I'm committing myself to the pantry for today. I shall inventory that at the same time, then it will be an evening of loose menu planning. While I'm driving to and fro today, I'm going to put my thoughts to some delegation of duties too (meanie Queenie! )

    Righto, onwards and upwards today!

Best of luck today FLC OS'ers.

    Hi Queenie
I read your post yesterday & really felt for you. You normally keep so cheerful & I hate to think you're having such a bad day.
My twopenn'orth for what it's worth is; a bamboo blind for the window VERY cheap & I think look great in a bathroom & cork floor tiles, easy to cut & lay, also very cheap & the two go really well together & give a very trendy 'natural' look to the bathroom. The radiator can be rubbed down & repainted - dead easy & almost no money.
Chin up girl - enjoy your day off, you deserve it.

Oooh, isn't flylady bossy! I probably need that kick up the bum, though.

She had me up off the sofa at 10pm last night shining my sink, then woke me again to tell me to go to bed at 11:45.

I haven't had a message about getting dressed, only to wear shoes.

If any of you are in York today, and see a penguin wearing nothing but laced up shoes, please point her in the direction of stardrops, microfibre cloths, and an SOS pad (any idea what this is anyone???).

  • Good morning girls.

My OH commented - without prompting I might add - on how very clean the living room looked.

That was room 1 yesterday. Room 2 the bathroom and room 2 1/2 the utility are on the cards for today.

This has been a good choice of week to do the challenge. The weather is very changable and not too hot. I can't clean in the heat we have had lately - hence the need for the blitz now !:p

Will start once the kids are packed off at school. Might finish late morning and have the rest of the day to myself.... mmmmmm what shall I have as my treat for today. Yesterday it was the cinema...... I could just settle for the baked New York cheesecake sittig in my fridge. :T :A
