Can't you fool yourself into thinking you are working. Perhaps put your coat on , leave the house by the front door and go in at the back and pretend you are working for someone else? lol

Good idea exilibris, might work if I can make myself believe the lie :D

  • OK that's me done for the night, washing up is all done and put away, oven is cleaned, front of all appliances and cupboards wiped down, surfaces all scrubbed, hob sparkling, recycling sorted, mouldy stuff cleared from fridge, oven hood cleaned, and my kitchen sink is gleaming!

    To do tomorrow:
Finish kitchen: Clean inside fridge and microwave, clear and clean floor and sort out table and dumping ground, wash down tiles, sort out dog's things
Bathroom: Clean sink and bath, wash tiles, clean toilet, sort out bottles and potions, go through medicine cabinet, change towels, clean floor, wash mats, clean window sill, move anything not supposed to be there

I actually thought I'd got more done tonight than it seems I have, must just take a long time to remove that much grime from everything. Will catch up with myself tomorrow!

Hope everyone else has had a productive day

Kazonline, have you tried putting lots of vinegar in the cistern? I do that and it removes the limescale and then flushes through, if you try it watch how much you pour in as it fizzes, I think if there is lots of limescale. I nearly overflowed mine as there was so much - and then when I flushed the toilet it was like I'd poured a bottle of washing up liquid in with all the bubbles. however the vinegar smell took away other smells with it!

Tonight I have watered the plants and removed slugs from them, they've eaten so much :( I didn't put protective copper around them as they were in a little green house thing, but I took them out cause I though they were too hot, now they've been munched!

Have cleaned the kitchen, not thoroughly ie fridge etc, but it is clean enough to use now, washing machine full and ready to go on in the morning. DW full and ready to go on tonight. Sink shiney and new like. Hob needs to be cleaned :( can I use Stardrops on it?

Bathroom, rubbish removed, surfaces wiped down. Need to do the walls and floor so will do that on my way to bed!

Dry clothes folded and put away.
    Dinner cooked and eaten
Bananas frozen for making banana cake, I think I'll have a freezer full soon as just put 16 in their and there are some frozen already!! :o
Indoor plants watered, there are only a few but I alwys forget to water them.

Thank you Moggins for the motivational thread to prompt this

  • Right, I do realise that I am slightly advantaged to pretty much everyone undertaking this challenge as I live in a studio flat!:D :p

However I am still going to undertake this challenge and apologise as I may not be able to complete it in one week......reasons for which I shall now note!!:p

Today I was at work until 6pm, but I did this evening Dyson the whole flat (borrowed from boyf's mum, lovely lady!) and I cleaned the kitchen(ette!!) and made a loaf of bread. I also did lots of washing up, made dinner for tonight and made lunches for the next three days for me and boyf as he will be staying over. That was all for today as I'm now on here!:p

Can't do anything tomorrow as will be out from first thing til gone 10pm at night, and can't do anything Wednesday or Thursday as will be out from first thing til about midnight.

Now Friday is a different story as I have got the day off! Perfect to be a buzzy little thing!! But am out again Friday night.

My things to sort out are.........
    • Under the futon
    • The airing/junk cupboard
    • The corner unit
    • The kitchen area
    • The wardrobe type thing(!)
    • Window area
These areas in themselves have enough junk to fill up a house!!! Although cleverly disguised and you would not think it if you visited!!!

I will keep updating on this thread until my flat is gleaming!! (Apologies if this thread continues and continues and continues and continues and continues and continues and continues and continues!!! You get the picture!!:p :rotfl: )

Good luck all and may the flylady force be with you!

I've done the bathroom...landiing...and stairs!!! Yayhay, am v.v.pleased with myself. It's a deeper cleanse than the usual but possibly not quite as detailed as Moggins' idea of cleaning. I did do the pipe thing behind the loo, and cleaned the tiles where they'd get splashed, and also cleaned the inside of the window plus the frame. I think I enjoyed the experience, time flew by. Am looking forward to getting the main bedroom sorted out tomorrow evening. Just wish I didn't have to go to w***...

joannasmum...you'll never be sorry for spending time with your little girl instead of stuck in an office. You'll find a way regards your finances, especially with the back up here on MSE.

EDIT: Think I am confused...was it Lillibet who's not sure about going back to work?

joannasmum...you'll never be sorry for spending time with your little girl instead of running around like a mad woman with a cleaning cloth in your hand...it'll get done manana, ie when the time is right...

I've decided to try and join in as i can. I will struggle to do a whole room per day on top of working FT, being pregnant and having a cold at the moment. Gosh, that sounds like i'm making excuses doesn't it.

So yesterday, i tackled some of the ironing pile. I nearly managed to clear it but managed to burn the back of my hand on the iron.

I have not done that mch today. I put away some more clothes from the airers, washed up after dinner, and cleaned all the sides and all of the cooker.

I also spent some time brushing the cats as they had been out for about 18 hours, and they both had loads of grass and bits of plants in their long tails.

DH did some dusting in the living room, although for some reason he only did one side.

Will just try and tackle something each day, which will move me forwards and be a lot better than doing nothing at all.

Keep up the good work girls. Chin up queenie. Tomorrow is another day, and you will again do your best.

    Michelle. xx

:o Yeahhh:j One shiny clean bathroom.
Only trouble was whilst on my hands and knees scrubbing the lino under the sink and toilet something tickleed my ear. My daughter (off school, supposedly unwell:rolleyes: ) opened and closed her mouth a couple of times then screamed. A huge spider crawled round my ear and sat on the top of my head:eek: .

So tomorrow it's head scarf and a crash hat cos i don't know what will crawl out next......................*note to self* must clean out rooms more often so as not to allow spiders time to unpack and move in...........:o

By the way, what room are we on tomorrow?:D

You got just one email Mushy Peas! That sounds v.v.different to the flylady emails I used to get totally bombarded with.

So tell me, did you get the email telling you to get dressed before or after work today?

That's why I got the strange looks at work.... I had forgotten to get dressed :rotfl: :rotfl:

I spent the w/e cleaning the flat (and my arms are suffering now). Spent ages on the kitchen...only for my 20 year old cousin to fry his first ever batch of pork chops and now the kitchen is splattered in grease :( And he's gone out for the evening :(:( Pain to much....onwards tomorrow!!!
