needmoney wrote:Moggins that list you posted reminds me of when I used to clean for others, I used to keep a record on my computer so I knew where i was the next time I went and I used to feel so fit and virtuous.
Arrive at house start, keep going, finish, home for coffee and fag:rolleyes:
I just can't get up the same enthusiasm of being so thorough with my own house and this is not an excuse but arthritis doen't help.
Can't you fool yourself into thinking you are working. Perhaps put your coat on , leave the house by the front door and go in at the back and pretend you are working for someone else? lol0 -
DD has come home from guides and can't believe how tidy the kitchen is!
She wants to know, can she be a fly girl and do her room?

I have a confession. I havent done a thing since I got in at 6pm. In my defence DD has decided that she doesnt want to sleep again and I have spent the night going into her every few minutes to calm her down. I'm going to bed now but I'm going to take my note book with me to make a more detailed list for the rest of the week to keep me on track.Sorting my life out one day at a time0

I am so pleased that this thread was started!
Bad PMT today that made me shattered and not want to do anything. Procrastinated for most of the day as was feeling low - even fell asleep again. However I refused to let myself post anything on here until I had completed todays challenge, so.....
After collecting children from school I did my bathroom and landing which involved
Clearing clutter from bathroom floor and sorting into bin/wash baskets
Clearing clutter from shelves (throwing empties as I sorted)
Wash window and sills (twice - first with Soda crystals then stardrops!!)
Washed walls (badly done yucky artex with has 'shelves' of artex to collect muck/soap scum)
Washed stinky tiles behind loo (badly fitted bathroom makes it near impossible for boys to aim straight when awake, let alone half asleep)
Washed stinky radiator - also rusting to bits
Removed shower curtain & basket liners& mats and washed (shower curtain back up!)
Dead venus fly trap binned
Washed all containers before replacing :A
Bath & sink washed and polished
Stinky toilet scrubbed and cleaned - still stank. Bleached - still stinks help ???
Carpet vaccumed (very uneven floorboards so lino no good....) then loads of bicarb sprinkled on carpet and down loo (can anything make bathroom unstinky???)
Landing
rubbish in bin (empty pencil boxes, broken toys etc...)
Laundry in basket (why does it have to be all around the basket but not 'in' it????)
Spiders evicted and rehomed in vacuum cleaner
Dead spiders buried in same location
All landing vaccumed - including fiddly corner bits.
Window & sill washed (miracle for me 'cause I allways forget this bit!!)
Door frames and walls cleaned as best as possible (needs redecorating)
Also done this evening -
Bolognese cooked (& enough to freeze) with addition of lentils
Children fed (and no one noticed the lentils)
Kitchen briefly tidied and wiped - twice, and needs doing again
DS2 taxi'd to a teenage 'gig' at local bar.... don't worry, I know the owners and it is for teens!!!!
So, thanks to you guys I actually got 'round to' cleaning my bathroom!!!
I know I've loads more to do but am resisting the urge to do more as I know I'll 'crash and burn'.
Queenie - so sorry to hear that you've been so low today, big hugs to you and I hope you soon feel more your usual self. I've been meaning to 'get around to' getting a blind for my bathroom. It's only been six years....
I don't think that the men in the street minded too much then as I was a little more youthfull and certainly a lot slimmer, but now......
Embarassing to confess - so I hope it at least makes you smile
:T :T :T To everyone that made a start....... and for those who didn't, worry not, YOU ARE NOT BEHIND -JUST ...... (altogether now...) JUMP RIGHT IN WHERE YOU ARE :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Joannasmum - I'm lucky in the respect that mine are old enough to play unsupervised. Keeping a home when you've little ones like you have is a major challenge - you're most important job is being a mum to them. Remember - cleaning a house while the children are growing is like shovelling snow while it's still snowing. I allways seem to have a blizzard going in my home
Mind, as they get older they bring new challenges - my DS3 (age 7) has just asked DS1 (age 16) 'what's a strawberry condom' Yikes!!!January '06 Grocery Challenge (4th - 31st) £320.Week 1 - £73.99 Week 2 £5.10 (so far)

kazonline you need a ping pong ball in the loo for the boys to aim at:D have you tried that scented blocks you put in the cistern i had to watch round the bottom of the loo where the tiles go up to, sometimes the floor got wet i had two boys and dh0

Penny of course your DD can be a Flybaby
Tell her if she does it really well Auntie moggins will send her a gold star.
Jo, I hope you have a better day tomorrow
Kaz you have done brilliantly. As for the stinky bathroom only removing that carpet will help I'm afraid. Have you tried laying plywood over the floorboards and then laying lino on top of that?
p.s. I am ROFL at the Strawberry Condom - do they actually taste of strawberries?Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
F U Fund currently at £2500 -
Kazonline, I do sympathise with stinky bathroom, I've had 4 boys!! Is there really no way of dumping carpet in bathroom? It really is the "holder" of so many smells
Once I changed to cork tiles (sealed!!) with washable mats, things greatly improved;) Can't say boys getting older helped much, they still managed to "miss" the target!! But regular washing of pedestal mat kept things sweet.
I think you're right with the bi-carb, could you leave it longer, like overnight? You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0
