Hello
I got a big bag of pears for 50p and I wondered if anyone had any good recipes, especially ones that could freeze (before we get sick of pears). So far I have made pear and almond tart, pear muffins and we have eaten some. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.:DTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
You can freeze pear crumble
Just make it in the same way as for apple, it's delicious!0 -

a crumble?
just peel and chop them add a clove and some cinnamon and put crumble toppong on top
Or mash them ( you could add alcohol of your choice), put in a sundae dish put a layer of crushed ginger nuts on top and cover with whipped cream or ice creamJust call me Nodwah the thread killer0 -
I have a great upside down paer cake recipe.
Make a caramel in the botton of a round cake tin (cook ~150g sugar with water until it caramelises). Place peeled pears on the caramel.
Pour a normal sponge batter on top. Cook the normal time for the spong and turn the right way up when cooked.
