Hi bramleyhouse,
There's an earlier thread with lots of ideas that should help you to use the pears so I've added your post to it to keep the suggestions together.

Hi There
I asked this a few weeks ago as i managed to get three bags of pears for 12p each. Tis the season for pears and this year i have made pear wine, stewed pears with apple, and made pear upside down pudding - a variation on the apple one which works well as long as the pears are ripe.
Pears ripen if stored in a cool environment - in a single layer on sheets of newspaper - out of the light. If the environment is cool enough you may be able to store them for a good few months. wrap separately in newspaper - like you would apples. Otherwise i am pretty sure you can bottle them but dont have a recipe
the thread on pears is really good - i guess you could also make perry - pear cider if you can find a recipe.
Try to store them to make them last the winter.

I have a load of pears and am not really that sure of what to do with them. Someone had a bowl outside their house with a note saying to help yourself, so I was like 'woo free fruit' and now am bored of eating them  and would like some fresh ideas.0
