tesco clubcard plus is not a credit card it is a card that tesco do not advertise much anywhere, i appiled for one 2 weeks ago you have to add £1 every month, but you just go to customer services desk and add your weekly shopping money on and pay for your shopping with it then you get double points:)

this may help a little more

Sorry if i haven't quite got this yet, but, does this mean you can pay with something else, ie. Airmiles amex, at the checkout. Then go to customer services and credit the clubcard points onto this "double points" (CS) card?

Then you get airmiles for the spend, and double clubcard points too?

Provided you top up this debit card (CS) by £1 per month?

  • Sorry for replying to my own post, but reading a bit more, maybe you can't do as above.
However, the money that you load onto this debit card, can it be from my amex?? Or does it have to be cash?

I was talking to my Tesco pharmacist yesterday who said that the above promotion will be reintroduced in about 2 weeks time. Last time all you had to do was sign up and get the points even if you had no repeat prescription, so hopefully it will be the same this time around.

I've been told tesco are imposing a 30 per year recycling limit on the inkjets.
Any over that will go to Marie Curie.
The rumour is somone recycled 50,000 and tesco got really narked. (it wasn't me).
They are also limiting how many recycle envelopes you can request from the company doing the recycling.
They should put the T&C's on the scheme at the beginning then everyone would know where they are.
  • 50,000????? How can the recycling company let this through? Think some poor soul is going to be seriously out of pocket, especially if they brought all of these cartridges specifically to recycle! Someone has go to know more about this!

Holy poo, that is alot! What's that, £200,000 in deals? Could buy a few cars with that, a nice holiday every month, his n hers rolex's!

Shame they don't do deals vouchers on house purchases!

Beware - I was wrongly told by TESCO HO that ANY payment method, accompanied by production of my Clubcard Plus Card and the words 'Points only, please', WOULD secure the Double Points.

THIS IS INCORRECT - and is now the subject of correspondence between HO and self.

HO Staff have agreed the literature is not clear and have also confirmed that I was misinformed by one of them. I am seeking Double points on all shopping paid for by other methods, BUT when Clubcard Plus was produced.

You can indeed pay money in at CS, in addition to the basic minimum requirement of £1 monthly DD - I do, when I've calculated my shopping total.

This money is instantly available if you pay it in Mon - Fri, but at weekends, it will take up to 48 hours to be 'banked' into your account.

You cannot use any Bank/Credit card at CS to fund your CC+, but you can do a Bank tfr online, although this will take the usual time to show up - 4/5 working days.
Better by far to park your shopping and dash outside to hole-in-wall, if it's a Mon>Fri shop, then 'bank' this at CS. They'll give you a receipt; you then go through a check-out as normal, paying with newly recharged CC+.

Finally, remember Double Points only kick in for your spend, not for offers, tokens, etc. but all this said - IT'S STILL AN EXCELLENT SCHEME.
    That's why it's relatively unsung.
And you DO take Green Bags for extra points, don't you? - use Bags for Life and you'll have Double Points on each one of these, too.(There's usually a few in the bag Banks just outside the doors, if you've forgotten your own.)

How many accounts did you recycle these on?
Did you try and convert all all your points at once?
I would take legal advice they have issued your points so surely that have to honor the value of the coupons though i suppose all they are doing is not allowing you convert to deal vouchers. Though it may be worth taking them to court on this as they are offering you the incentive to collect points by recycling and to exchange them into deal vouchers. By not setting a limit they have surely left them selves open if they did get taken to court as they encourage you to do it and then steal the points back.

May be worth seeing if any papers or local news are interested in the story, the more bad publicity that tescos get over issues like this then the more likely they will be to back down.

I recycled them on one account. I requested to convert most of the points in one go, to pay for the holiday. I did not 'hide' behind multiple accounts or try to 'sneak' the holiday vouchers a few at a time because I honestly believed that I was acting within the spirit and the letter of the scheme.
They have said, in addition to refusing to honour the exchange for holiday vouchers, that they will also "reserve our rights as to what further action we will take in regards to this matter". I take this as a suggestion that they may cancel the points, and throw me out of the clubcard scheme (can you be blackballed from a loyalty scheme for being too loyal? !!)
I will have to be carefull about courting publicity because I cannot attract media attention towards foster children. At the moment, they still believe they are going to Sri Lanka in August, but if this drags out it will not be possible as it will be fully booked. I suppost one further option could be to approach Virgin, whose holiday vouchers I was requesting, and see if they want to run the risk of being caught up in bad publicity!!!!!!!
  • I telephoned Tesco customer services yesterday and they said they were unaware of a limit on the number of ink cartridges that can be recycled.

I get through about 1 black and 1 coulour every 2 or 3 weeks (work from home) so that is approx 40 to 50 a year.

How can i find out if i will get points if sent back to tesco's or not?

If customer services don't know - who does?

elditig - hope you get your problem sorted out soon.

    Hi All

Does anyone get their shopping delivered by tesco.com??

I've had a few deliveries (when they send me coupons for a tenner off:j )...noticed yesterday you can earn 500 clubcard points for refering a friend to the service. When they sign up and have their first order over 50 pounds delivered you both get 500 points!

Sounds like a good deal to me but everyone I know is already signed up
    2008 is the year to:
1.Sort out electricity meter (if its the last thing I do-at least is means my other half will be left with the bill  )
2.Save enough c/card points for holiday to Mauritius next year
3.Start stoozing-maybe a slow one to begin with!
