I have just received a clubcard plus application form but I am a little concerned that they want a bank or building society statement. I am not so bothered about sending the utility bills they ask for but really I do not want to send the statements they ask for. Should I ring and ask them if I need to send these or has anyone else had this problem. thanks0

No sorry he can't do this. The checkout operator has to check that customers clubcard matches the voucher being used. Often they do not check but a clubcard must be used or the till rejects the clubcard voucher.
This is not correct, I use my friends and mothers points all the time as well as my own in the same shop and only ever use my Tesco creditcard clubcard to pay and it has never refused my points. Infact I added some today a mixture of mine and my friends.

Does your credit score affect a Clubcard Plus application?0
-
I think your credit rating must affect your application because I've just had mine turned down - the only reason I can think of is that I have a bad credit rating (brought on myself by being stupid!!).xxx Nikki xxx0

Marbella, I've just received my application form as well and they've asked me for the same things - which is why it's now sat on the table, while I make my mind up what to do as I don't see why they need a statement, can't they accept something else as confirmation of a bank account?0 -

My points nearly all come from my credit card. I have a Tesco mastercard and use it for absolutely everything so I get basic points on everything I buy wherever I buy it. I have a direct debit set up to clear the card in full every month, so I'm in no danger of paying any interest.
One thing I find particularly satisfying is shopping in a Nectar card place and paying with my Tesco credit card, so I feel I'm getting the best of both worlds. Also it means I don't have to feel guilty about having a big gooey expensive pud at the Brewer's Fayre (or that's what I tell my husband anyway!);)
i also get lots of money off a certain spend vouchers at saainsburys but i dont shop there very often but tesco always accept the sainsburys vouchers for face value too .

I've been pondering what was posted about limiting the number of cartridges that can be recycled.
I would suggest that since you have to give your clubcard number etc when you recycle they should reasonably warn people to stop if they are unhappy.
They also make a considerable profit from selling recycled cartridges.
To discourage people from recycling does no seem to fit with the current Tesco PR stance.
They could change the terms and conditions like they did with the mobiles if they are unhappy.
To accept the cartridges and issue the clubcard vouchers may be viewed as a contract.
I hope you win as it seems a bit like sour grapes trying to retrospectively change the rules.0 -
They have!
Over the past few months I have sent several hundred inkjet cartridges away that I have collected, the points have been awarded and the clubcard vouchers issued.
Now I have tried to convert them to Virgin Holiday vouchers, a director of Tesco Freetime, the people who handle the voucher processing, has written to say that I have acted outside the terms of the points scheme and it "amounts to an attempt to abuse the clubcard scheme"
He has asked me to justify how this level of inkjet recycling "can be regarded as personal and consumer use" and to "only reply in writing as this will give us both an evidence chain should this matter end in court action."
I am an individual who has collected the points to take foster children on holiday in the summer. I have pointed out that they set a limit of 5 mobile phones to recycle, but do not set a limit on inkjet cartridges but they are trying to shaft me on the clubcard terms that state "THE TESCO CLUBCARD SCHEME IS ONLY FOR PERSONAL AND CONSUMER USE" and the number submitted is "FAR IN EXCESS OF ANY NORMAL USEAGE BY A CONSUMER HOUSEHOLD."
I am composing a reply, and will update on how it goes
How many accounts did you recycle these on?
Did you try and convert all all your points at once?
I would take legal advice they have issued your points so surely that have to honor the value of the coupons though i suppose all they are doing is not allowing you convert to deal vouchers. Though it may be worth taking them to court on this as they are offering you the incentive to collect points by recycling and to exchange them into deal vouchers. By not setting a limit they have surely left them selves open if they did get taken to court as they encourage you to do it and then steal the points back.
May be worth seeing if any papers or local news are interested in the story, the more bad publicity that tescos get over issues like this then the more likely they will be to back down."Save the cheerleader - Save the world"0
