Tesco Clubcard Plus - Double Points

Options
If you phone tescos and ask for a tesco clubcard plus application, you can double your points. You load funds onto the account, then pay for your shopping from that account. The store said they would be discontinueing new applications soon, and they are not advertising it any more. So, go for it, Grab it While You Can.

As you have to load money onto it, what rate of interest do they pay?

You can load money on it when you enter the store at customer services, so you could just load a close amount of funds to your spend, and pay on the way out. So you don't actually have to tie up loads of dosh!

I rang them on 08457 10 40 10 and the lady denied that thye were closing these accounts.

She said to order a pin when you apply and then you can check your account balance straight away on the cash machine. But you might find that it could take two days to show after youd done an instore top up.

An overdraft is availabel but its APR 9.9%

Tesco don't promote Clubcard Plus at all anymore, surprised they even still take new applications. Another way is the Tesco Credit Card. When you use a Tesco Credit Card instore, you get double clubcard points, then you just pay the bill when it comes in.

Also get points on everything else you put on it. All good as long as you use it sensibly and pay off the bills without letting interest pile up.

    Just to clarify:

Tesco Clubcard Plus : pays double points in store
can only be used in store
you have to put money onto it (no interest paid)

Test Credit Card : pays 1.5x points in store/Tesco online
pays 0.5 points on all non-Tesco purchases

It does pay interest on the credit balance although it's minuscule. 0.9% a month.

By the way, the clubcard plus card doesn't pay double on bonus points, only on shopping total.
I started off with nothing and I've still got most of it left.
