  • I've just phoned and asked for an application form. I also asked if they do a credit check, and the lady said no. She sounded confident when she said it too, so I don't doubt her.

But I'll post again when the form comes, to see if it asks for consent for a credit check (it is against the law to do a credit check without consent).

Not sure if you can top up with a credit / debit card @ CS, I just use the hole in the wall @ tesco, pop to CS then top up with cash, you would probably be charged a % taking cash off your credit card though.

I have set up just £2 a month DD as it had to be filled in I think, then I just top up @ CS daily or weekly.

  • what a load of old rubbish....

just got a letter from tesco rejecting my application saying:

thanks for your application, but your application has not met our criteria.

have phoned em up and asked what the criteria is and am waiting for a call back - they told me tuesday at the latest.

anyone else had the same thing?

    Mine went through ok.

Maybe your bank declined the Direct Debit, your address could be black listed or Tesco are just being an !!!!, keep pushing to find out why, will be interesting to see.

  • Hi, I used to have a Clubcard Plus card years ago when they first came out - but got into trouble financially and ended up getting rid of it (fool!!). So, just to re-cap cos there's some really old threads on here - Is Clubcard Plus still available? - Can you pay cash onto it at CS and it's credited immediately or does it take a couple of days? - Lastly, do you just ring Clubcard CS to apply for one cos I can't find anything on Tesco.com??

Thanks in advance for your help!!:j

Yes the Clubcard Plus are still available. You have to phone for the application form on 0800 406050. I phone for mine last week and still waiting for form to arrive.

    HTH ;)
  • has anyone paid at customer services with a credit card to top up your tesco plus card and have you been charged for it.
Already asked i know but it seems to have got trampled in the rush lol.
If you where using a 0%for purchases cc did it cause any problemswith the supplier.
    thanks
  • Hi just a follow up, I've just rung the Tesco Personal Finance Customer Services and asked if I could have a Clubcard Plus card. The very nice lady said she'd pop the application form in the post and i should get it by the weekend.
I asked if the application form was required because I would be applying for credit, and was informed that infact it's the opposite as it's basically like a debit card so no credit check is required as long as you have a bank account that will accept direct debits so watch this space and I'll keep you informed!!

I got an application form yesterday for this and while I shopping I asked if you could top up at CS desk before shopping and staff looked at me with blank faces and didn't have a clue what I was talking about. So if I get one and go to pay I am now wondering if I'll have trouble paying.

Can anyone verify I can top at CS desk before shop and if I put £30 on and spend £32 can I pay the extra in cash or would it all have to be a cash transaction?
