Just cut up my Nectar card there, not worth the effort.
Had it for a few years, had got about 2200 on it. Tried to check balance online and told it was 'invalid'. Customer service said, hasn't been used for a while, you need to re-register and get a new card - 500points to transfer points. What a crock.
Oh well, if Sainsburys want to track my buying habits they can whistle for it.Filiss0 -
I received my nectar letter with vouchers as normal, and spotted a 2,000 nectar points voucher valied until 31st October in the pile. As I was renewing my home insurance that month, I thought this would be a great opportunity to boost my points balance.
So in early october I visited nectar.com/insurance, where I logged in and clicked to get home insurance quotes. As I had never registered with confused before, I entered all my details and proceeded with obtaining quotes. I found a great deal and went ahead to purchase. At no point in this process did it ask me to type in my nectar card number, but as i had been linked to confused.com through nectar insurance I didnt think anything of it.
I went online tonight to check and see if the points had come on. No they hadn't. They did say on the voucher that it could be up to 60 days, but I thought I would contact them just to make sure all was ok.
Firstly, I tried contacting them through their online help. A guy called Dean was happy to assist. I asked him about the extra points, and he said "thanks very much" and disconnected me! I was very frustrated, but thought I would give it another go. Second time round, he tells me that I have to contact nectar by phone about my points - even though it states on their website that this online chat should be able to assist me with anything! Doubly frustrated now, I disconnect and proceed to phoning Nectar to see what is going on.
I call and speak briefly with a girl called Jane, who tells me that she has to pass me on to her supervisor as she cannot help me with my question. Her Supervisor comes on the phone - and I wish he hadn't. I spoke in detail about the steps I took to complete the confused questionnaire and proceed with buying insurance - and he asks me if I entered my card number. I told him I didnt, as there was no box at any point which asked me to do so. So he tells me that I wont get any nectar points for the purchase as I didnt enter the card number!!!! I try and tell him a number of times that at no point did it ask me to enter anything apart from my credit card details, but he gives me the same standard response.
I am absolutely appalled at the customer service with Nectar - I feel I have been conned into using confused.com, whereas I would have been more than happy to have carried on with my current insurance provider. I know for a fact that the nectar card input box was NOT there a month ago, but the guy at the end of the phone is telling me it has always been there (how he knows this I don't know - he must check the website every single day to make sure its there.........)
Can anyone please tell me how I can appeal this? Did anyone else have the same problem? I am so frustrated and don't know what to do - help!!!0 -
I did a similar thing a while ago - bought something in Argos using Nectar points & then did food shop in Sainsbury's using points that had yet to be removed due to Argos purchase not going through the Nectar system quickly enough. I ended up with a negative Nectar points balance that took a while to clear, but guess it was the equivalent of free money
or possibly a free loan (depding how you view it!)

You will have a 14 day cooling off period for your policy where you can the cancel the policy.
Just cancel the policy and use quidco. You'll get cash with quidco0 -
ahastie - i had a carp customer services from nectar too. I was with edf and was meant to get nectar points on a monthly and quarterly basis although this never happened. My first lot went on no probs but the rest never. The guy i spoke to a edf said they had transfrered them on for me but nothing again. I have since left edf (not just because of that) and i was told i'd have to contact nectar with my problem. I should have been getting just under 3000 points from them but they claim the points went on as they should, i told them to check my account and they'd see they were never added but they wont have it at all! I did get really annoyed with them but i'm unfortunately no further forward.
Mind after all that i've had over 10000 points this year which have happily paid for a few xmas presents so i cant grumble too much. Hope you get sorted soon.
Simmy - providing you went through nectar site to get to amazon you should get your oints. There's no box to input info on amazon but it will say on nectar site as its trasnfering you - tracking for simmy. They can sometime take a while to appear usually 2 to 4 weeks.£387.39/£196.46

I'm getting really pee'ed off with Nectar, so far they have failed to update my account with bonus points on a ebay transaction in october 200 points(filled in a lost points form and even spoke to call centre in india) and also got duped into signing up to gala bingo 1000 points which did not appear on my transaction.I hate migraines.0

How the hell do I claim for missing points/transactions, been looking for this for awhile and can't find anything online. Nothing on their help page that helps atleast.0

So I get an email today from nectar saying to spend my points at Amazon ... by spending 4,300 points on a £20 amazon gift voucher.
Forgive me, but I can't quite see the point? 4,300 points is worth £21.50 in Sainsburys, so it'd be preferable to spend the points at sainsburys and use cash at amazon, save myself 300 points, and possibly actually earn a few points by using the nectar link to amazon.
I've got over 50K points - I've never found anything worth spending them on that it's not cheaper just paying cash!0 -
Does anyone know if nectar points can be added retrospectively with a receipt?
I only ask as I have just paid balance of new car and was not til I got home saw the nectar symbol on back of Ford brochure...
Kicking myself now!!!0
