Money Moral Dilemma: Should Tom recycle his ex's Xmas presents?

Of course he should give them to Penelope. There's too much soul searching with some of the replies on this one. They're not second-hand so what's the problem guys??0

There is absolutely no reason for him not to give them to his new g/f if she is the same size. I have bought things in the Jan sales with people in mind then given them to someone else the following year.
I regularly have a stock of presents that I buy throughout the year when money isn't so tight0 -
Absabloodylutely!!!:T0

No dilemma for me here. So long as he thinks she will appreciate the Levis. The mug might be a bit 'previous' though.. It depends how long they have been going out!
Having said that, if someone bought me several pairs of jeans, I might wonder what they were trying to tell me0 -
This doesn't even require cogitating or ruminating. Absolutely NO WAY!! Nada, nien, non, no etc etc! Unforgiveable. I could/would never do that.0

I'm really surprised how a lot of people on here think this would be OK. I don't like the idea at all, all right he never gave them to his ex and it would save him money but it makes girlfriends seem like they are commodities and not individual people. He should sell the stuff on EBay and get Penelope something nice with the money. Since they've been together less than a year he shouldn't be going too over the top anyway. If Tom treats his girlfriends in a one size fits all manner no wonder it didn't work out with Nicole.0

As a girlie, if I had been going out with a chap for a number of months, then I wouldn't suspect that they'd been bought for an ex, I also wouldn't expect him to have bought them 6-12 months ago.
If the conversation were to arise where I found out, then I might be a bit naffed off, but unless he'd left the receipt in his pocket or told everyone all his mates what he'd done, I can't see it coming out.
It'd be nice if he 'fessed up, and asked me if I'd like them, but then seeing as I am the same size as the ex, i'd probably love them - being her clone after all !!!Always on the hunt for a bargain.
Always grateful for any hints, tips or guidance as to where the best deals are:smileyhea0 -
Just give her the jeans and mug and be honest what they were orginionally intended for and buy her a proper presentMortgage £120K, monthly overpayment £600, 18 years and £100K saved0

I'm all for saving money but if I received a present meant for an ex girlfriend... well, he'd have another ex girlfriend lol!!! :rotfl:0 -
