I'm going to be shot down in flames here, BUT there is another aspect to this. No one has mentioned that there are already far too many people in the world as it is. You already have five children. We are all made to feel guilty if we don't recycle or stop flying or turn down the thermostat, but I don't hear many people saying the main reason we are running out of resources is that there are just too many of us. I can't understand why limiting the number of children we have is such an emotive issue, it's just common sense. If we are told that we can all make a difference if we do small things like turning off the tap when we brush our teeth, then surely deciding not to bring yet another human being into the world should be pretty high on the agenda? It's just plain irresponsible to claim it is someone's 'right' to have as many children as they want.
'Ducks and runs for cover'.
Sorry to step on your point here but the fact is that we are actually living in an ageing population, which means that we are becoming over populated because people are living longer due to advances in health care/ health awareness etc. Actually, people are having LESS children and should be having more to avoid a much worse population crisis in the future. It is NOT because people keep popping out babies without thinking about the environment. Ever heard of the baby boom. Blame Hitler
Maybe you could switch your laptop off to save a bit of energy? Or is it 'do as I say, not as I do?'
I cannot believe that you suggest she should have a termination because of environmental issues. WTH does that have to do with the price of eggs? God, some people.
I reduce, reuse AND I recycle. I use my bike instead of my car. I don't use aeroplanes or other things that create co2. I compost. Hell, I only breathe when I have to. So am I eligible to have a child by your criteria?
Personally, I would follow my gut instinct. Only you know what you want. I know from my own experience how hard it is to be in your position and I really feel for you. Have you talked to your doctor (or someone else in your life that is impartial and confidential) about what your options are?0 -
and you are being very rude and ignorant, just because the person doesnt agree with you, doesnt give you the right to be rude0

Great topic for a debate - lots of opinions and views and quite an emotive subject.
But original question was what would you do in OP's situation?

My Mum had her 6th child at 42, I was 11 at the time, in fact he is 37 today and I can't imagine life without him (or any of my other 4 siblings). Good luck whatever you decide...0

how will your kids react? well, your ten year old will be totally disgusted because it will mean that you must have done 'it' at least once more, which is of course a complete no-no for anyone over the age of 25
:rotfl: (I say this as a mum with 10 years between my youngest and middle children)
