Mich I watched NR drop the price of our house twice. Each time I laughed knowing they would get less and less.. surprisingly they have being very quiet not heard a thing since the house sold0

I've just looked online and found my repo'd house price has been dropped. It's now lower than the mortgaged owed. It's only been up for sale at the original price for 4 weeks.
Don`t look Hun...well try & resist anyway... besides its not your house anymore & the sooner it sells the better. If you are like me then you`d want a new family in it as soon as possible.0 -
Actually not entirely accurate, i remember feeling sick at the time and it did get to me, in the end two people were interested in it and it went to bidding, it sold i think for 190k. We paid £220k for it in 2003 and spent 60k+ doing it up, before me and OH split up we put had it valued at £410k (this would have been enough to pay the mortgage and all of OH debts) but sadly came the crash, someone who i know bought it although i wont go to visit... When it first sold i did feel sick, the house was full of so many memories and dreams, but we are so much happier here and NOW I can laugh0

If their silly clauses and daylight robbery for daring to sell a property or change the mortgage in anyway were lessened then we could have sold last August when we planned to sell, pay off the mortgage, use the equity to pay off the debt and start again. No, the greedy people they are prevented us from doing so unless we had £1000's for added charges.
I'm now bankrupt, house repossed and they have lost so much of their money. Stupid company, stupid rules, stupid ethics and stupid motgage deals.
Stupid me for not being clued up on my mortgage when I took it out!!!!0 -

I guess i'll be on standby for that letter from Northern Rock stating I owe them the shortfall like they promised.. jog on - I didn't sign the deed of acknowledgement but knowing them, they'll try to screw me every which way
oh mich must be hard seeing your old home online..do you have to talk to NR if they call?0 -
Mich, one of our main problems was our mortgage nearly doubled and they refused to do us any deal, we could not re-mortgage anywhere else either due to the state of the market, but like you say they lost out in the end. We can now move on, not only have we lost the shortfall debt but all other debts too. And of course learnt soem valuable lessons along the way.0

yes stupid NR but defo NOT stupid you.....
they are so low...i wouldn't have realised this 12 months ago..and probably not til i joined this forum x0 -
I have no ties with them at all. They have taken possession of the house. Don't hear a dicky bird from them, just a letter promising contact about the money we'll owe should there be a shortfall. I covered my back so i'm not liable but I can see I'm going to need Bat and Fermi's help to sort the bug gars oot when that time comes0

You know what Angie, I look at those pictures of my tiny lil house and i'm not bothered now. Is that easy come easy go again??
That house signified 'I'm doing very well for myself, I have a brand new house, look at me, I'm better than you in your terraced, you bullyish teenagers when I was at school, look whose on top now' I'm not that person anymore. I'm not driven by lies or fakery any more.
This house feels more like home, I walk around this rental in the dark. I'm sitting here on my own as DH out and I'm absolutely fine and feel safe. I never felt like in the shoebox.
I hope that house sells and I hope some new family get a bargain! I don't have to go anywhere near that house or that town any more, life was c rap there really0 -
