  • One of the best recepies iv given the family was: Home made meatballs cooked in the oven in oxtail soup served with mash :-)
  • ... oxtail soup served with mash :-)

Can you still buy oxtail soup? not seen it for years....used to love it ! Going to buy some ( if I can) & cook sausages in it in the slow cooker....yummy:D:D
  • yes you can, it was taken off the market with the mad cow disease but they re-did the recepie and its available again, although not as nice as it used to be as its got no brains in it........

    Get this..

my bed is being delivered on Tuesday!

It has been such a looooong time coming, and looooooong time saving but we've done it and I've never felt so much sense of acheivement.

It really is true the sense of easy come easy go. Stuff paid for by credit card and even debit card just doesn't ring true. Hand over a wad of notes that you have saved up for months for such a boring item as a bed and I feel great, proud and will cherish this posession more than I have a brand new car on finance.

Next I'll get to redecorate my room but i'll have to wait till January to start saving for.. plus the car fund will need some attention after the MOT on Monday.

I'm still in a really good mood. Had the prepaid card from O2 arrive today so looking into whether I can use that at Tesco online for my groceries (going to save Tesco points for Xmas shopping next year.. I know, I know MSE tells you to double them up etc for meals out to get more for your 'money' but I don't need that, free Christmas goodies next year will do me fine)

Also got £50 vouchers coming from SKY (that' another bind, we were determined not to sign up to it again as it was a luxury but I have been watching TV online and have used a lot of money going over our limit, plus renting movies on a Sunday night, SKY just seemed the sensible thing to do in the end.. only fools and horses again! Brill! Fishing on TV not so brill  ) Sooooo £50 to spend in Marks and Spencers in the New Year for clothes for my little one will be great.

Yeah life feels good at the minute.. like I say MOT on Mon - hopefully the brum will be ok.

Have a good weekend, family gone but got more comig tonight! t'ra for the noo x

Well, back to earth with a bump. Family gone, DH gone fishing. Just me, the walls and the kids again. Should take them out for a walk but finding it hard to get the 'ooomph' to get up and go. I'm annoyed that I can be totally fine for days then get down so suddenly. Sitting here trying to make a plan for the day to try to ward off the down feelings but i'm struggling to be bothered. That's bad for a mother of two kids, they should always be stimulated instead of left to their own devices, drawing and watching cbeebies.

Well, like I tell you all when you're down, it's a mind game. Better kick my mind into touch becuse I'm the boss. Best be proactive eh?

There is nothing wrong with kids entertaining themselves - it stimulates their imaginations. Don't feel guilty.

it's so easy to feel down after a few days of busy busy entertaining people....
why not take a couple of hours to relax then go for a walk this afternoon? i'm sure they're quite happy entertaining themselves for a couple of hours!
i'm glad you had a good time with your family though.

Well thats something else I've figured out. You really have to get up and do something when sadness creeps in.. but you have to do something you like doing!

I decided I wasn't going out so put my scruffs on (that's another story! Confused, i'll not bore you again.. weight and zip issues!) flew through the house doing the few chores that needed doing. Put little Lucy to sleep for a nap and Amy and I made another batch of mince pies. I've made bread and butter pudding for the girls and the lamb mince is defrosting for homemade shepherds pie later for tea.

I'm good now, sense of acheivement but happy at the same time. Now going off to hunt some red paper to wrap my mincemeat and jam jars in, cut out some stars, put a tea tight candle in and put it on the mantle with the garden shrub cuttings garland.. I love been tight! £15 in Tesco's pocket for a plastic garland.. nah!
