If only Mum would take the £90 untill May because then I would be at goal with Cambridge  But then again I still have my debt to deal with in teh mean time :o

I think I will have to admit defeat and just stick where I am for a few more months

how about explaining to your Mum how much it means to you? It's only 5 months, surely she would be proud of you enough to let you pay £90 per month in order to move forward/upwards in life?

Never admit defeat - just go for it - there are always ways.

  • Pap, Surely £90 is ample for your mum. It's not as though you are eating being on the CD is it. Why are you paying house insurance? You need to sit and chat methinks.

Tree is up and the fire light. I felt all Christmassey and full of goodwill this morning so asked the family round for drinks at 6.

    Just had marmalade cobs. Yum.

PAP, you are a bit stuck but I would still go for the interviews....very good experience. However, I would also make a list of companies where you would be interested in working and write a letter to them all and explain that you are looking for experience in order to move forward. If you personalise your letter, you may get some joy.

I wouldn't give up and if you were my daughter trying to better themselves and lose weight I would be only to happy to help you out...but then I don't know the full circumstances...

Lou, I drink Amaretto either neat, or with a bit of soda water. I love the stuff! Never tried it with JD, but since I've just ordered 2 bottles from Mr.T I'll give it a go (they're 2 for £25, normally £20 each, although given how much I drink they'll probably last me 20 years!).

Pap. I think you're going to be financially better moving out. You'd get HB, so if you can find an all inclusive house share, or go somewhere as a lodger, then you wouldn't have as much to pay out. You also wont have to do as much housework/dog walking/skivvying so you'll feel better. You could also get a few hours work to fit in around college, if you live somewhere closer and have less commuting time. As you know, I've been looking for a carer for 5 hours per week, which works out at £33 a week. There must be people like me near you, so you could get in touch with SS and say you can manage a few hours? They keep lists of potential carers. That's just one idea, you could I'm sure find something for a few hours here and there. TBH, and I'm probably way out of line here, but I really can't understand your family's mentality towards you.

My turn to moan, I'm really annoyed with sister. She got the train time wrong and I was sitting in the car waiting for her for 45 minutes. Then she kept making loads of (pathetic) excuses why she can't get the train to the gig tonight (she's since got home and looked it up and realised it's really easy). Then she told me all the reasons me not going this weekend caused problems for her and our friend. Fair enough, but I already knew that and felt bad enough without her rubbing it in! Then she moaned about how crap her life is, which I know and sympathise with, but she's thinking of doing something to get sacked from her job so that she can go on the dole - and didn't believe me when I said she wouldn't be able to. Oh, and she informed me that I have to be on standby for the next couple of weeks because if she gets a job she's applied for she'll need to move, and that I might have to give her a lift back to Skeg after next weekends Terrorvision gig - although at least she asked me if I wouldn't mind for the first one. She also ranted when I told her I've got some chocolates for my postman to say thanks for delivering everything with a smile even though I've been getting loads of parcels lately. Apparantly he's doing his job and he gets paid for it and you shouldn't give tips.

But when I got back my neighbours had all put their lights up so the square looks nice and christmassy!

The three bird roasts look nice, but waaaay too much for me, I'm going to treat myself to a duck breast fillet, yum. My 80 year old neighbour was telling me earlier how she's just about all ready for it, and has got loads of alcohol in and is going to be smashed through it all, I think that's a great idea!
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

Oooooooo I shall try that on tuesday when the coke comes with Mr T delivery, I always have a bottle of JD in the house as MIL quite often buys it as a thankyou for taking her shopping.

I may think of someone that would appreciate the other bottle as a gift.
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.
