Thanks Scaredy. It's just dammned if you do, dammned if you don't - if you're on benefits you're a lazy scrounger, if you want to do a bit of voluntary work to give something back then you're a scrounger who's faking. Oh well, if something ever happens to them they'll realise how it's not that clear cut.

Ooops, cross posted Beanie. I've just posted on the employment and training board about becoming a very part time debt/benefits advisor and how to go about it, and someone said that if I can't work then I can't do that either. It's probably just a pie in the sky idea anyway, but I'd like to put all my experience to good use, and I'm missing doing stuff to help the community.

Anyway, I'm off out to the german market, hopefully I wont spend too much. Although after the last few weeks I'll probably look at somethng and just think 'can I quidco it anywhere'!

How much do u give your mum at the mo?

Hi Beanie, I wont dont worry. If it means cambridge will ahve to go then thats what will happen. I can go back to callorie counting which is £10 a month :D I pay £120 a month at the moment.

Are you ok? Anything we can do?

Pap - Have you actually asked your mum about the £90? Worst she can say is no. But I do think you'd be better making the leap and getting a room/flat share....if HB will cover it then you'll be no worse off and you'd be out of the situation where you seem to be taken for granted.

Pooky, I have and she side steped the question. I then knew deep down she wouldnt be happy with just the £90. I didnt want to cause an arguement so I didnt push the idea. I do understand that moving out would be fab for me but in all honesty I cant see me moving out untill I am around 30 anyways. Its just not possible without either having benifits or house sharing, neither of which I am too happy about. Anyways I will sort somthing out if I am offered any of the two places :D

Glad you tried the roast before christmas day. Are you going to go for classic turkey now? Or do you have a mix of white and red meat?

As it's only me and the cat on christmas day, i'm thinking of getting a free range chicken, which are on offer at Mr T's.

  • Hello folks!

Thought I would pop in... About to put the kettle on cause I need a hot water bottle and a cuppa!

Freeezing tonight though isn't it?? Not having a great night tonight though - my bed just broke tonight... and not because of anything interesting before you ask :p headboard seems to have given up the ghost...reported it already to the landlord so hopefully they will get someone in good and proper to have a go at fixing it...

Wrapped up in my sleeping blanket and debating on whether to risk trying to sleep on the bed... or just go for the sofa tonight...? Opinions?
