  • I think I found the offer by following links to do with an earlier Jake West production, so it was not unsolicited. They do seem keen to get some cash from me though. The closing date has been shifted, and now I'm told they will hold some shares for me until March (work is taking me abroad til then, honestly).
I too was informed of the deal with Sony, but can find no reference to it anywhere on Sony's sites. doesn't mean there isn't one of course.
How can the closing date be shifted back, twice now? Are they not able to sell the shares? Are they able to issue extra shares, which would reduce the value of existing shares? (I'm no expert but.....).
Larry365's Dad did well, just under 60% profit in just under a year, shame he won't tell us more. I just can't see how he did it, not that I don't think its possible.
There is a forum for unnoficial discussion at <carnabyinvestor.co.uk>, standard forum layout, several films and topics covered. NO POSTS!! At all, nada, zilch!
With so little information you have to wonder if its safe, why no comments? Admittedly, I can't find any bad ones either. Sorry i don't have any answers, I will keep looking.

We've just had a letter through the post about these people also.
Quick google search and MSE came up on the first page.

They seem to have been going a while, as i can see from when these posts started, but still not sure if you could make any money. I've only heard of 1 of their films, and i'd consider myself a movie lover!

Apart from the 1 post above, does anyone know of anyone who's made money from this sort of thing?

    Cheers

Can we please get a reality check here? I have invested 5k in 2 movies + the company itself and I am not worried.
    - If you go to Amazon and search their DVD titles you will find lots of positive feedback about their films.
    - Rise of the foot soldier has been a big cult success.
    - I think Doghouse will do even better.
    - Can someone please leave feedback here on successful returns from investments?
    Cheers

Can you pop back in 10 years or so? May be something for you then.

At least ... like Readers Digest .... they've stopped writing to me. So that's positive.

So are you telling me that no one has got money back from their investment!!! How do you know this? What makes you so 'informed'?

I still prefer to remain balanced and refer to actual proof!

It's easy to mouth off and say stuff that you can't back up.

As I said I invested 5k and my 1st 3 years comes to an end in October. Give me proof you are so sure your views are so correct? I am not burying my head in the sand I am willing to listen to all experiences with this company and I think there are plenty of positive stories out there!!!
  • my mother in law is involved in a family estate involving something like 25000 shares in carnaby. the law firm acting as executors for the estate where advised that the shares could not be sold on the open market and that they where not interested in buying them back at any price. i hope that helps prospective investors.

I have actually been trying to get more information out of carnaby. I invested in Are You Ready For Love and The Last Drop. Both genuine films, both made however absolutely no money coming back or details of when that will happen. Can other people post as well so its a bit more up to date. This post seems to have been running for about 4 years now !! Oh how I wish I had seen this 4 years ago....

I will also get onto Watchdog and my solicitor and see what we can do. Perhaps we can pool resources or something

As a follow up I have also contacted Watchdog. Could you all please do the same. the more that contact them the more likely they will assist
  • I invested years ago in the Last Drop, and have resisted further investment until TLD pays out. Looks like it will never happen, though Carnaby are still talkng about a payout next year....
I'm not holding my breath, and have put it down to bad experience.
