I wanted to switch DD/SO only and not my salary. I've gone through the whole application process but there's no option to switch DD/SO.
Is this something they will ask you when they send you the application pack? T&C says you must use RB's centralised Account Switching Service to transfer DD/SO - how do I ensure I'm using that service to make the DD switch?
Thanks in advance.0 -

Its all in the application pack. Got mine today. I can just feel a muddle coming on (its a bit complex with lots of room for error on their part - I'm bit worried they will try and move more than I want or try and close my existing bank account!) but I'm going for it anyway!!! Planning to move salary only, get the £100 then transfer the salary to usual account. Need to send one month bank statements with application and my printer has run out of ink so application stalled at present!MTC NMP Membership #62 - made it back to size 12 after my children & I'm staying here!0 -

If it's like when i went Natwest > Alliance + Leicester they send you a list of DDs and SOs that you have already authorised them to obtain at some point in the process (from your "old" account). You simply tick the box for the ones you want to move and send it off.Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen and six, result happiness. Thanks. Don't want to transfer my salary, hopefully by moving over council tax and water bills DD will do the trick. If not, I'll just close the account after 2 months.0

Offer is still open until 9th July as stated on the website, just use the link http://www.rbs.co.uk/switch0 -
On another note, you could do worse than stick with RBS!
I've been banking with RBS since I was a kid, so about 24 years now. Although the interest rate isn't very high the service is excellent and I can honestly say I've never ever felt ripped off or messed around by them.
Also, lets face it current accounts are not the place for earning interest. If you want savings, use a savings account! If your current account is for your regular bills etc the interest is likely only a few pennies per month.
Ironically I've lots of friends/relatives who've banked with other banks (Lloyds, barclays and worst HSBC) who when they tell me some stories about how they've been messed about etc and it's all gone wrong I'm reminded how good "my bank" is. Furthermore when shopping for other deals like credit cards, mortgage and loans I normally find they're able to offer me the best deals too!0 -
I too only wish to switch DD/SO ,NOT my whole account.
The application process asks if you want to switch your account. I ignored this option but chickened out just before final stage as I wasn't given the option to use the switching service.
If someone who has received the application forms in the post could confirm that the DD/SO switching option is available at that stage, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks0 -

I have waited for over a week for my application pack and never arrived. I applied on line again and was accepted and it ask me whether I required an overdraft. I said yes and came up with a figure I could have. Does anyone know do they do credit check during the application or wait until you send docs back. At end of application I was advised my application was accepted in principle
With many thanks,0
