  • Something fishy going on here, Similar to previous posters I have tried to access the terms and conditions of the £100 offer and the page has "dissapeared". I have phoned to ask about my £100 and they say I only qualify if I transfer both my salary and Direct debits. (The woman I spoke to even felt the need to explain the difference between money going in and money going out). It looks like I am now going to have to change some DD's in order to get my £100 unless anyone has a copy of the T+C

    From post #47 above -
"Terms and conditions of £100 offer
This offer is only available in Scotland. To benefit from the cash incentive, you will need to have your new current account based at a branch in Scotland.
Only available to new current account customers opening an Interest Paying Current Account, R21 Account, Royalties, Royalties Gold or Royalties Premier account between 1 May and 9 July 2006 who use it as a main account (as defined below).
In order to qualify as a main account, you must use the Royal Bank’s centralised Account Switching Service to transfer Direct Debits and Standing Orders from your existing account elsewhere and/or mandate your salary/pension to the account."
Not available to existing Royal Bank of Scotland plc current account holders.
Only one offer (cash incentive) per new account.
We will pay £100 into your new account within 28 days of the switching process being completed – you will receive a letter confirming when the switching process is complete.
All account openings are subject to acceptance.
You will lose the right to benefit from the offer if we deem that your account has not been opened or used in accordance with the terms and conditions above.
This offer is subject to change and may be withdrawn at any time."

Although above says "and/or", the leaflet I have offering the £100 states to qualify as main account, must use their service to transfer DDs and SOs from another existing account elsewhere. Sorry, I don't have a copy of the website T&C.

yummum - I have screenshots of all of the Ts and Cs. If you PM me with your email address I can send them over if you like. HTH.Just to update, I rang my Inverness branch today - dreading an inquisition! But the lady was really nice, said she would check with account switching team. Rang me back and said they have credited it for me. Very pleased!
  • Thanks to boots babe and counter 55, I have been through all of the paperwork I recieved from RBS and found (to my surprise - never seen it before!) a little leaflet about the £100 offer. It has the terms and conditions on the back. I have just been on the phone and quoted these T and C (felt very empowering) and they are going to look into it and get back to me later today!
  • Good news to report at last. I plucked up the courage to ring my branch yesterday (Inverness high street), and the lady was very nice, said she would check with the switching team. Couple of hours later she called me back to say they had added the £100 manually, result! :j

Now just need to get my husband to do the same for his account (which may not be so easy lol).

By the way, just sorting through my paperwork today, and as well as the letters they sent addressed to me saying that by switching I would get £100, I also have a leaflet with the details, Ts and Cs etc, same as yummum mentions above. I don't need it now so if anyone would like it I'll glad it post it on.
  • Good news as well. Just like boots babe I have had a call from the RBS and they have manually credited my acount with £100. Thanks to Martin and all other poster's

Hi, Further to my previous post on this thread (which didn't get a reply) please could those of you who have got the £100 tell me from when did the 28 days start?

My a/c is open, RBS have written to me (on 22 Aug) to say that my credits have been moved using the a/c switching process etc although salary not gone into new a/c yet. I want to chase the £100 but not before its due - when is it due? from a/c open date or another date?? I have met all the terms but just not sure of the timing!

Well I understood it was from the date of transfer, i.e. the date the switching dept give you from which your switch will be complete. Although when I called up, they actually only asked me when my first salary came out. So I guess it could be that, not sure.
  • Another success here. I got fed up with waiting (Transfer confirmation letter dated 14 July) so phoned the branch. They referred it to the relevant department and rang me back 2 days later to say that £100 had just been credited to my account.

Went straight to the DVLA website and spent the whole lot on a new tax disc for my car ;)

  • thanks for all the comments. I've been meaning to look into it! I've give them a ring tomorrow :-)

I never got my £100 for joining Lloyds bank either...
