I attach my part of the order forms so it shows how much I actually earn from customer orders, if you do that it will clearly show that the customers only ever gave you £4.00 for the lipstick. Hope that helps

i am seroisly considering quiting , 5 campaigns in and I my orders are really not adding up , £12 last campaign and only £37 for this one .

My territory is ok I guess have a total of 5 customers who place small orders occasionally ( one only ever spends £1.50 ) family and froends were supportive at first but that support has dropped off over the campaigns ( or maybe they just have everything they need now) I have one good customer who orders every campaign but they are never big orders . its costing me money to order the brocures now and thats exactly what I didn't want to happen .

the only thing stopping me is that i don;t want to dissappoint the customers that I do have no matter how little they order .

I am torn . Do you have any tips for getting past phases like this ?

Have you tried offering incentives for bigger orders, put a flyer with the brochures with a free gift offer for all orders over £15, if you make it eye catching big bold and bright. I buy in items from the 99p offers that then only cost me 75p-80p you can usually get shower gels etc on offer.

You could do a recommend a friend offer.

I'm sure others will have more ideas than this

    | offer incentives like loopy201 has suggested. I started off with spend £10 and I will give you 10% discount, then it was spend £10 and I will give you a free gift, and when the orders started coming in, would raise it to spend £20 and receive a free gift.

I would also highlight promotions in the book like only 99p pages xx - xx. buy one, get one free pages xx-xxx. Think this helped people to actually stop and have a look at the book rather than putting it back out.

I did the introduce a friend and I will give you a free gift as long as they place an order of £10 or more. I gained 7 new customers this way, although they don't all always order, but is extra customers.

To start with, put some customers on one campaign, and others on a back campaign.

That way you only need to buy say 20 books at each campaign or just 15 and you are maximising your book use. Do you know anyone that can take books to work for you? Offer them a free gift if they get you orders.

Lozza1985 offers 15% discount at this time of year to get new customers, and my friend suggested I do it too. With creative ordering, you can sometimes get away with not even paying the 15% yourself - it is paid for through the orders and backordering.

When I submitted my tax return last month, as my turnover is less than £30k all I needed to put was total income (ie total money from customers) and total costs (costs of products, but also books, bags etc) and that gives the profit that you pay tax on. They don't actually need to know what the actual costs are in any more detail.

Close! It was 20% to new customer on their first order. And 10% on theirsecond order. Got 3 new customers using this, who all spent over £10, one nearly £30. And as mentioned, with creative ordering you don't necessarily loose that amount in your earnings so could be worth trying,as hopefully once they have ordered twice, they are used to ordering and know they like the products so will hopefully be long term customers.

A canny thing that I saw in another home shopping brochure was a note at the start saying that a £5 voucher has been put in one lucky customer's book. You then put a home-made voucher in one of your books.

Ok, it means you're spending £5 on the winner (or £3.75 with your commission factored in) but it does encourage customers to look really carefully through the books!

Sorry to hear it's not going so well for you Jane :grouphug:.

You might pick up some ideas from the 'hints & tips' & 'sales promo ideas' I posted a while back (p4, posts 68 & 69). Failing that, you might just have a duff area - would you consider talking to your ASM to see if you could add a couple more streets which may be better? Also, do you drop a book to every house which hasn't said 'never darken my door again' or only to those who showed an interest at the start? It is surprising how many people see a book for ages then suddenly decide to order (I had one recently after more than 2 years!).

If you have any freebies or cheap items you could give away, then you could try a prize draw - enter every order whatever the value, or offer 1 entry for every £5 spent (or whatever value you choose - perhaps £2 in view of previous order levels). In my experience, that really tempts people to order and small orders can turn into larger ones over time.

Hope it picks up soon, but at least if it doesn't, you've given it your best shot.

  • Hello,

I apologise in advance if this has been asked somewhere, and if not, for me being incredibly stupid!

I have just got my C02 order, it was only a teeny one, personal order as I had no customer orders (Only do friends and fam and last few campaigns are so close!) I had 2 of the £5 off make-up vouchers from C17, and I had ordered 2 items for myself, the Magix stuff, and Eyeshadow quad. I used the "Pink codes" from the brochure. But they have come at full price, under the normal codes. Should I have sent in the vouchers or done something else alongside ordering? I have just gone through ALL of my Avon stuff and cant find anything about these vouchers, typical! I cant even find the damn vouchers!

Hope someone can help...sorry for being so dim!

    Hi cloudedskies

don't worry, quite a few people struggled with these vouchers.

You needed to input the pink code for the 2 products you wanted, and then input below the voucher code. It is here on this thread, if you search for voucher code, you will find someone has posted it.

You will then find whne you go to the subtotal, you are only being charged £8 for the 2 products.
