did you get to pick or are you just given an area with no choice

the ASM looks to see what roads are available where you live, and then assigns roads if any available. When you first set out they tend to only give you a certain number of houses, and they see how many orders you put in and the number of customers. Then if the number is high enough for them, they may give you more territory.

I've just emailed my asm for a territory I'm hoping it's in my area cos in the three years I've lived here I've never had a book through the door. There is only 16 houses on my street and 8 of my neighbours order usually every other campaign but thats probablly because they know me.
how many books do you need to order for that size of territory?

Ahhh OK I'm getting confused though.
It's showing on my invoice thingy as:
Product number Quantity Product name Customer price each Price total Your cost You earn selectorGrey1x1.jpg 88252 1 Double Award Sales shown as £8 Cust Price. Your price is based on £4. Free £0.00 £0.00 £0.00 19141 1 Ultra Colour Rich Mega Impact Lipstick Really Rosy £8.00 £8.00 £3.00 £5.00
So it just counts towards presidents club and I don't actually earn £5? Or are you mistaken? I'm confused!

no idea now!! i e-mailed and thats what i was told! i hope it is £5 commission!!!

I pointed this out last week how it looks like we get £5 commission when we only get £1. i emailed Avon about 10 days ago and have had no reply.
I pay tax but because I don't do my tax return until after April I have no Idea how it works and was concerned I would get taxed on £5 instead £1.
I have never met a calorie yet I didn't like!!
  • No, guys, the flyer explains it (as does your invoice) - £8 is what you'll 'earn' towards PC but the actual cost to your customers is £4 and the nett cost to you is £3 so that's £1 per lipstick commission actually paid to you. (Am guessing that your commission figure at the bottom of your invoice will include £5 per lipstick but, as we all know, that's a notional figure and takes no account of your costs so bears little resemblance to what you actually do earn.)

Might be a good idea to make a note now i.e. while it's fresh in your mind, in that the commission figure quoted by Avon is incorrect? Do you actually produce your Avon invoices to IR or just work the figures out yourself?

i am seroisly considering quiting , 5 campaigns in and I my orders are really not adding up , £12 last campaign and only £37 for this one .

My territory is ok I guess have a total of 5 customers who place small orders occasionally ( one only ever spends £1.50 ) family and froends were supportive at first but that support has dropped off over the campaigns ( or maybe they just have everything they need now) I have one good customer who orders every campaign but they are never big orders . its costing me money to order the brocures now and thats exactly what I didn't want to happen .

the only thing stopping me is that i don;t want to dissappoint the customers that I do have no matter how little they order .

I am torn . Do you have any tips for getting past phases like this ?

When submitting your tax returns, you will put in your own figures of earnings. So it would be a good idea to make a note, your discount was not £5, but only £1, so when you submit it, you are not putting overinflated figures.
