So all my friends and family and first half of territory are on current campaign and second half of territory will be on previous campaign. Am I allowed to do that because I seem to have an idea that I can order from previous campaign with current campaign order if that makes sense?
    Kelly

Yes Kelly you can put anyone you like on the previous campaign, as you can back order one book.

And this is the best use of your book, ie maximising the usage from your book.

That is what I do, only regulars are on current book and my territory are on my previous campaign book. That way if I don't get books back I am not too bothered.

Mc does her address show as having a black dot on sma? It could be that a previous debter has resulted in this and your rep would need to prove she is someone different. It's unusual for Avon to reject someone due to bad debts, my mil can't even get a sim only contracts due to a bad credit rating but Avon accepted her with no problem. It seems likely it's due to a previous debt with Avon whether from herself or her address. Mind you if she's showing on sma now they may have removed the black dot, don't suppose you looked befoRe her account was set up?

It she's still rejected by Avon you could suggest that you provide brochures to her in return for getting ordErs which you put through on your account (helps your sales figures) and she can buy the products from you at cost so she still makes money. Would mean she had topay upfront but if it's the only way for her to be an Avon rep of sorts she may go for it.

Thanks, lozza. No black dot on her address or anywhere near - she lives in quite a rural area - only black dot is way outside her territory.

Thanks for that suggestion too - she's quite a way from me so postage would eek into her earnings. My only other thought was to see if her new partner/boyfriend was prepared to open the account in his name or is that too sneeky?

Whilst she said initially she was going to post her orders through, she now plans to get a landline and, hopefully, a computer next week. I'm helping all I can and have offered to input her orders into her account so she's all ready to press the button at the last minute i.e. if Avon agree and we can ease it through. Obvously, all this is totally new to me so am a bit wary of how far I can go to help (I have a tendency to always go the extra mile in everything I do but sense I need to be careful now as an SL) so really appreciate everyone's input.

Thanks, everyone - I love these Avon threads! :T

Yes MC, they are office based, so only work Mon - Fri. I seem to remember reading earlier in this or previous thread, that someone was allowed to pay for the whole order up front and then Avon delivered it. It gave that person a chance to build their account with Avon, ie paying on time, etc.

    Good luck with this one.

Thanks again, aureol. I'll run that suggestion by her when she rings me later. Will post up how it turns out.

Yes MC, I know what you mean about wanting to help everyone do their best - sadly I learnt the hard way not to get too involved.

I have a rep who has been assigned territory by Avon, they called her, as her sales were so high and offered it to her. I asked her how she was getting on with it and her response was, "well I knocked on a few doors and they have my number, if they want to buy."

I did ask whether she was going back to collect books, if she had canvassed the whole territory, etc but she didn't reply and I noticed her last order was a lot less than it normally is. But she is on benefits, so don't want to push her too hard for canvassing etc in case it takes her over her earnings limit.

Re prices jumping......Ive had 3 customers order the clinical eye lift in camp 6 at £12 each, next camp they are £10 when bought with a choice of make up items! Feel really guilty!! Oh and One customer has actually ordered 2! Last camp she ordered 2 reversalist eye creams at £18 each.. this book they are £11!! I feel terrible! Going to use some my extra commission to buy them nice free gifts hoping it will soften the blow!

Hi Johanne, before buying them free gifts why not work out how much difference it makes to your commission if you offer to return the goods bought at the more expensive price and let them re-order at the cheaper price? In your case it may be prohibitive but it will certainly earn you a lot of brownie points with your customers and should guarantee their ongoing support i.e. if anyone else tries to poach them. ;)

My guess is that Avon are quite used to it being that there's a code for returning a product because it's not good value - they can't argue if you return products at £18 and re-order at £11

Yes mc you can sign the partner up that's fine. If you are going to input orders for her or submit then make sure you get written permission. It's easy for a rep to go back on their word say you did it without written permission it's their word against yours. Some sl have lost their business because of this so be careful how much you help and always always cover your back.

yeah im thinking of doing something maybe teling them they can order the make up product free next camp so they dont totally miss out.

I *hope* i softened the blow with the reversalist eye creams by giving her a reversalist night cream and 2 trial serums free as her overall order was £50+ !! (she didnt see camp 4 book with the beauty bonus bag where i got it from and where the eye creams where only £15! ;) ) Must have worked or she is not too bothered either cos her order this time is £45! :)

Suppose i have to keep remembering im running a business not a charity!! Supermarkets wouldnt feel guilty that something was on special offer that you bought last week full price...... so why do i?? Hmmm.... Must put on my business brain.

Thanks, lozza, yes my thoughts were to prep her order online for her but then it would be up to her to press the final 'submit' button - lot of IF's in there i.e. IF Avon allow her, IF she gets a computer and IF BT do their stuff and get her landline installed in time. May all come to nothing but at least I can try....

  • Hi everyone,

I've been a rep since before Christmas but not really doing too great, I hope some of the hints and tips on here will make a difference!

I noticed that some of you have mentioned using expired books for drops but I'm not sure if you mean back campaign or back a few. If you are using expired books how do you do it in regard to special offers etc?

    Thanks (and hello)!

Definately still get written approval as well to cover yourself.
